My twin brother Stephen and I were exploring around this area of the Malasana district and one of my favourite streets to walk along is Calle De San Bernardo ,a long street that runs from roughly Glorieta De Quevedo to Plaza De Santa Domingo.
During the 18th century this street was part of the " Golden Mile " as it was the home to the aristocraticy and the most important religious orders of the day hence the amazing churches and convents found slong this street, nowadays its a wonderful street to visit ,besides the beautiful architecture there's great pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants, its a vibrant street ,one I highly recommend you visit if you're planning a holiday to Madrid.

Calle De San Bernardo is a long street that roughly runs from Glorieta De Quevedo to Plaza De Santa Domingo and is a street that is packed with some great architecture.
There are some great structures along the street such as Parroquia De Nuestra Senora De Los Dolores ,Monasterio De Montserrat, Segundo Monasterio Salesas De La Visitación ,Palacio De Parcent ,Ministerio De Justicia to name but a few of the outstanding pieces of architecture along Calle De San Bernardo, add to this the amazing amount of pubs, bars and restaurants to be found as you walk down this street makes it such a great street to walk down and if your into your shopping theres innumerable retail outlets to appease the most ardent shopper.
Well worth checking out if your planning a holiday to Madrid.

Beautiful, long and very heterogeneous street that goes from Santo Domingo to Quevedo. Both in San Bernardo and its surroundings there are many points of interest, to name a few, the Salesas convent, the Montserrat church, the old Central University, the Palace of the Marquis of Santa Cruz, the Palace of Justice and the Bauer Palace, as well as shops, bars and restaurants for all tastes
