We propose to know something else Gran Vía from the urban, historical and architectural point of view since it was conceived more than 100 years ago until its last reform. We will start on the roof of the Circle of Fine Arts, work of Antonio Palacios. From there we will know together the urban development of Madrid, Gran Vía and surroundings, reviewing the history of other buildings of Palacios as the seat of the City Council or the Cervantes Institute. After going down the impressive staircase of the Circle and knowing the building inside, we will begin to walk the Gran Vía, stopping at the Loewe Foundation, Chicote Museum and the Telefónica Building, the first Madrid skyscraper, whose Foundation we will access together. We will continue the tour knowing the old Paris Warehouses, stopping at a rooftop in Callao with views of the third section of Gran Vía that we will travel to Pza. De España where we will go up to the last roof terrace to have a drink while I tell you about the project that will change this area.
We suggest you to get away from the hustle and bustle of the center and learn more about the Madrid Río linear park around the Manzanares River from an urban, historical and architectural point of view. We offer you a walk or by bike to know a forgotten area of Madrid until the burial of the M-30. Works by Sachetti, Juan de Hererera, Pedro de Ribera, Burgos and Garrido, Fisac or Andrés Jaque will be on our tour together. We will start in front of the Royal Palace, reviewing its history and we will enter the Casa de Campo to reach a secret viewpoint from which to enjoy the views of the cornice of Madrid. We will continue the walk among the pines of Madrid Río, stopping at the new bridges as the metallic spiral of Dominique Perrault. After freshening up on the beach in Madrid, we will continue to the Matadero to enjoy the renovation of its pavilions at the Central de Diseño, ending at La Cantina del Matadero where we will have a vermouth and some tapas.
We propose you to learn more about the Lavapiés district from the urban, historical and architectural point of view. We recommend that you save some time before the aperitif by the Rastro to walk together and learn about the history of theaters, cinemas, cafés, museums or their corralas, typical buildings of houses in the authentic heart of Madrid that Traveler has declared as the coolest neighborhood of the world. Small hidden gems like the municipal printing house, rationalist industrial building of 1930 or the last in the area to have a drink like Sala Equís, the last X cinema in Madrid. From here to Cascorro and the history of how the Rastro began, combining the most authentic with the latest in vintage furniture. From there we will go to the Tabacalera where you can see the best of urban art on its facades, passing by Doctor Fourquet with its art galleries until the expansion of the Reina Sofía Museum, ending at the San Fernando Market where you can have an aperitif with a vermouth and some tapas
