I was in Madrid for a few days on my own, and decided I needed to sample some of the tapas I had heard so much about. Great decision! Andres is a great guide, extremely enthusiastic. We met at the Plaza de la Villa and spent several hours walking around the old part of Madrid, going from one bar to... More

I cannot recommend this tour enough. Andres was utterly delightful and gave a really insightful tour of the city whilst showing us different wines and tapas venues in the best and most authentic spots in the city. I was on a trip with 7 other girls and they all absolutely loved it too - a real must do if you... More

Andreas met us at Plaza de la Villa at 8 and was immediately so friendly and likeable and knowledgeable about the city and the neighbourhood. We were a hen party on 8 women and he kept us all entertained. The city is beautiful and he provides informative chat without being to tour guide-y. The food we had at all three... More

We loved every minute of this tour. We appreciated the small group set-up (ust 8 or 9 people each time) as it made it easy for us all to get to know each other a little. Andreas is very knoweldgeable about the city and about the food and wine we sampled along the way. He is also a thoroughly nice... More

If you’re looking for a short but interesting history about Madrid and if you have taste buds that are prepared to savor in the delicacies of the region, then Andrew, the wonderful and unassuming host, is your guy. We visited small taverns with rich histories; we ate a variety of traditional and delicious tapas; we drank fabulous fine wine; and... More

What an amazing experience. You travel through old Town with Andres and your small group. He points out random facts about buildings and people in the area. His food and wine choices are superb! The normal tourist would most likely walk right past or not even find his choices. If you're in Madrid I highly recommend you take the tour,... More

An absolute must if visiting Madrid. Andres was a brilliant guide and an excellent host. Amazing wine choices and well worth the money. Make sure you do this on your trip. It was our highlight.

A fine wine and fine tapas tour which was a highlight of our trip. Visited 3 locations with a small group of 8 and the very interesting Andres. His wine choices were superb and the food divine. A great experience I would highly recommend. Toddled off at the end....

Amazing food and wine tour. Certainly a major highlight to start my trip in Madrid! Brought around medieval township and see well preserved buildings in the beginning and explained to us the history prior to dining and wining! Group was only 7 excluding Andres which is small. Went 3 different restaurants/tapas bars for Omelette, Cured hams, Clams and Pork (tasted... More

Staying in La Latina

Neighborhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighborhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighborhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
