We went up to the top floor where they had lots of gourmet food. I found some Spanish cookies and candies that will be good gifts for family and friends back home.

We were here to buy some household items for our daughter who is living in Madrid. The sales associates were fighting to get our attention when we were looking to buy things but then when it was time to check out they were no where to be found. The prices seemed very high and not many options. I would choose a different store for household appliances.

There are in fact 2 or 3 of these department stores located next to one another. My wife and I spent a good hour looking around them. One is 10 storeys the other 9 I think. The range of goods is phenomenal and there are plenty of helpful staff plus the sale discounts appear generous.

Celiac Haven! This is a random full-size grocery store in the bottom floor of a department type store. Its hidden unless you know what youre looking for. Just outside the actual grocery area is the “health” food section with more than 3 aisles of gluten free options. Gluten free breads, pastas, & snacks galore. We stopped at this grocery at least once a day on our way back to our apartment a block away.

Corte Ingles is a famous department store chain in Spain and there are a few in Madrid. They always have the best range of goods at reasonable prices, and have great eateries, sometimes on a rooftop terrace.
