This was an interesting tour of a winery around which the city of Logrono has grown. I enjoyed learning about the history of the winery and winemaking. We don’t drink so didn’t partake in the wine tasting at the end, but the friends we were with, who are wine drinkers, were not that impressed. Also the only option for the wine tasting is to stand, and the guide left after she poured the wine, so there was no opportunity to ask questions or have her point out features of each type. Our friends had done another bodega earlier in the day which they enjoyed more.

Thank you for your visit and comments. We have different services and the one you boked included a tasting of two wines. However, for people who are really winelovers there are other options which offer more wines to taste in a formal way. Thank you in any case because your opinion helps us improve. Greetings,

They told us, on arrival, the tour would have no English. Fair enough, we could have withdrawn at that point, but chose to go anyway. During the tour, the guide admonished someone, in clear English, for touching a barrel. Otherwise made no attempt to accommodate our group of four.

Thanks for your opinion because it helps us to keep improving. Not all the schedules are in English, and although our guides speak English well, if the tour is in Spanish we must respect the reservation language in order to guarantee the quality of the experience for all the tourist. We are very sorry for the inconvenience but we duly inform you about the language of the tour in the reservation process and when you arrive at the winery. Regards,

We LOVED this guided tour! However, I'm not sure if any tours are done in English because we didn't realize the tour would be in Spanish until we arrived and checked in. It might be a good idea to call in advance so that you are prepared before you arrive in case you don't speak Spanish. The wine at the end of the tour was also DELICIOUS, so it's worth staying for that at the very least. :)

We are glad to know that, despite of the inconvenience of the language, you have enjoyed the visit to our winery so much. We have other schedules in English available on our website. See you in the future.

It was such a great surprise! We are used to wine tours but this one was impressive the amount of new info that our guide Adrian presented us. He was very nice and careful specially with my father that has difficult to walk. We recommend it a lot. Such a pleasant visit. Thanks!

Casual but informative, perfect for our needs, great explanation of the process and winery and in English too. The winery is incredible stretching well beyond what you can see at ground level. The wine tasting at the end was relaxed and pleasant

We walked from the centre of Logrono ( about 10 minutes ) to this 125 year old bodega. The visit was really good and our guide was fantastic. We then tasted wine and snacks. All for 12 euros! Well worth a visit

We had an excellent trip around the winery and tasting. Just across the iron bridge from Logrono this winery is easily reached from the railway station with perhaps a 20-25 minute walk. Our guide was brilliant, he explained everything very well with no dumbing down but clear and simple vocabulary. The tasting was excellent too with plenty of wine flowing and nibbles. The only downside was the group size was quite large but the price €14.5 per person was very reasonable for a one hour tour and three small glasses of wine. Would definitely recommend. The most interesting parts were the old photos and adverts.

Advance communication with the winery was excellent, in its friendliness and professionalism (unlike the Marques de Murrieta who ignored our booking request) and we were placed on an English tour.
The experience was informative and entertaining and it was great to explore a smaller, family run Bodega (in contrast to the impressive industrial scale of the nearby Campo Viejo). What we liked most was the advice on how to taste wine (colour, aroma, how to taste it/key notes to look for etc) rather than just giving you the wine to taste. The large platters of chorizo were welcome and we were very pleased that it was incredibly inexpensive to try a wider range of wine in their shop.

My friend and I arrived in Logroño for a 2night/1 day stay and had run out of time to book any winery tours in advance.
After discovering Franco Espanolas was within walking distance of our hotel we called to see if they could fit us in for a tour. Unfortunately the only tour available on the day we visited (Wed) was in Spanish (and we needed English) so we asked if we could come and do wine tasting, which they said we could do any time (they were open).
As a pair we were able to have "half tastings"(1 tasting serve in 2 glasses). We tried 7 wines for ~15€ total all of which were very enjoyable and we felt was great value. Diego, our server/host, was friendly, able to confidently converse in English, and gave us adequate time to enjoy the tastings at our own pace (we spent ~1.5hours there). We were also provided with a plate of chorizo and bread sticks with the tasting.
Although we missed out on visiting any vineyards/wineries, we were very satisfied with our (last minute) visit to Franco Espanolas where we satisfied our main objective - to sample multiple La Rioja wines. Definitely worth the visit!

Besides of an excelent and very cost effective wine, we enjoyed the tour a lot, with a very friendly lady, guiding us and introducing to the world of Rioja's wine. We really recomend the tour, we visited other two wineries but this was by far the best.

Is it possible to park a car at the bodegas?
Written August 20, 2019
Yes, it is. When you arrive at the bodegas by the main street, you must go ahead letting the facade in your rigth, and turning rigth on the first road. I think there is a signal advertising the park site. Enjoy your visit!
