Good shop
Oct 2019 • Couples
Unlike many of the bodega shops, Ramon Bilbao seem to stock a vast range of products with various vintages available. It is a big company operating in several regions.
Such is the size of selection on offer, you are probably more likely to find the wine and year here than in the excellent vinotecs in Haro.
An impressive building too.

Barrels, Barrels and more Barrels
Sep 2019
An impressive vinery absolutely stuffed with pristine barrels and equally impressive vats, some concrete (with liners) and some more conventional with a n excellent guide with a good command of English. We tasted two wines, one a Reserva 2014 and super Gran Reserva 2011. So we bought six of the later at €20.80 each or about £18.91, a good price for a top quality wine.

Building works completed
Sep 2019
We have been coming to Ramon Bilbao for years and we love their wines. The tasting experience (and purchasing) is vastly improved now all the building works are completed. Delicious wines that improve in the glass are a treat for Rioja wine-lovers.

Maria del Pilar, our hostess and guide for the visit was fantastic. She explained very well not only the technical part of the production but also the story behind the founder, an amazing one. The premises and facilities ara beautiful and very well maintained. Highly recommend this tour and a visit to this region!

Great tour with a lot of attention to detail.

I've done a lot of winery tours in various countries and this one stood out with their genuine dedication to educating the visitor about their winery (and wine production in general) and a maximum attention to detail. Our tour had about 15 people in it, the guide was extremely well informed, and the winery was very generous when it came to wine tasting: a total of 5 different reds were offered with a detailed explanation about each one of them. If you happen to be in the Rioja region, stop by Ramón Bilbao. I doubt you'll regret it.

Paula and Cristina did a great job
May 2018 • Business
Thank you both for the hospitality and very informative tour. We visited some 11 wineries with a group from the UK last week, and this was the only winery where we tasted wines straight from the barrel, which was quite nice. The tastings and 3-D activity were also quite special. Cristina the guide was very, very good, and Paula introduced us to the business beforehand. Strongly recommended; it is a nice 15-20 minutes from Haro's center by foot. People in Haro are very courteous, including drivers, so the stroll should be enjoyable.

First a great explanation on how they make wine, we continued with several tastings and finally a VR tour. I only missed visiting the Vineyard.

We were two couples from Norway, visiting the Bodegas Ramon Bilbao and had the most interesting excperience of the day. We were lucky to have the charming guide Cristina who took us round the property. She is very scilled in the winemaking profesion and gave a cunning and enthusiastic insight in the progress of winemaking in Rioja. She really made our day. A visit is highly recommended.

Very informative
Aug 2017 • Couples
We did the Mirto tour which was very informative, the girl explained many things (in Spanish). The tastings were really nice and we could try 5 different wines with the miro at the end, a fantastic wine! We also bought some wines at the end, it was really worth it. The only thing we can say it was not that personalized as other small bodegas in the area, but of course this is what we expected.

Thank you very muchfor your review, Pascal: We agree with your opinion about Mirto. It is a superb wine which deserve to be tasted at the end of the visit just to end with a nice flavour ;) Thank you very much for chosing us in your journey to Spain.
