Shining gem of Haro
Sep 2019 • Couples
The church of Santo Tomas is simply magnificent. Its austere walls and vaulted ceiling create a striking contrast with abundantly decorated gilded altar...brilliant! The exterior of the church is equally beautiful; especially the bell tower. There is a viewpoint at the back where you can get perfect views of the Rioja Valley and the vineyards.

Beautiful church interesting organ
Jul 2019 • Friends
Beautiful church with some very old vestments (17th Century) on display. The highly decorated organ is unusual. It is more interesting than most churches in this part of Spain.

Nice walk around the area outside and inside of the church. The architecture is wonderful and you'll learn about the culture.

With regret we were unable to visit the magnificent church, and see its splendour, and altarpiece as it was closed.
Make sure you know when it is open before visiting if you wish to go inside.
At this time (30th May), the notice on the door said open Fridays and Saturdays 10.00 to 14.00, and Sundays.
Enjoy :-) if you can get in !

Very nice feel to this not so often visited town. Well worth a longer visit. Was at the centre of Easter parades.

Beautiful
Oct 2016 • Family
A haven of peace in the midst of a bustling city. This church overlooks the old town. First glance on the outside the masonry is ornate and elaborate. Inside the church you are almost floored by the rood by the alter which is glowing gold. The stations of the cross are works of art and everywhere you look there are sculptures. Look up and admire the stained glass windows and the dizzily high domed ceilings. A must see.

Wandereing around Haro...we found san Tomas
Aug 2016
We popped into this spot on our Haro day out. I always marvel how small Spanish towns have such huge and ornate churches. Check the organ out in this place...amazing.

Beautiful.
Jun 2016 • Friends
During our 2016 European road trip we spent a couple of days in Haro. Whilst wandering the streets I came across this beautiful little church.
Sadly it wasn't open, maybe this was due to the festivities and the sheer amount of cheerful locals looking like Ribena berries!! ;)
But it was still beautiful from the outside.

Pleasant surprise
Dec 2015 • Couples
This church does not look like much outside, but what a pleasant surprise when you enter. Very ornate with lovely paintings.
