A LITTLE BIT OF BRITAIN

Worth visiting for 15 minutes or so to read about the Battle of Trafalgar which took place near here. One or two interesting headstones of sailors killed at sea.

It was a pleasure to visit Trafalgar Cemetery again and notice a gentleman clearing the weeds etc to keep it neat and tidy.

Only two of the residents of this cemetery actually died at Trafalgar! The rest all seemed to have died from fever on garrison duty at the Rock!

Small very old cemetery at the very end of Main Street. Gardens are lovely and well maintained. Only a couple of graves of sailors from the Battle of Trafalgar but well worth the visit

Visiting cemeteries may not be on most folks list, but this one is worth a visit. Situated just outside the main city walls, it is an oasis of calm. Well maintained and full of history!

I found this disappointing. It was not calm or peaceful being right on a busy road junction. It was full of people and very small. Not worth the walk along Main Street to see this unless you are heading to the cable car/botanical gardens.

Lovely old cemetery on the edge of the town. A couple of graves of sailors who died in the Battle of Trafalgar and many of people who died from illness around the same time. The wording on some of the graves is fantastic. However it is a shame that some of the engraving on the gravestones is too faint to... More

Gibraltar is a vibrant city with few places to be alone and have time to relax and reflect but he Trafalgar cemetery is a place where you can do just that. Turn the corner from Main Street and suddenly you are in a green and impeccably maintained oasis where the noise from the crowds and the traffic just falls away.

Visited here on an excursion , very interesting headstones of fallen seamen from Trafalgar. Unexpected visit, but full of history.

This does not need to be a long visit, but it is certainly worth the time. The cemetery is nestled at the end of the main street area just as the hill rises. It is bordered by the remnants of the old wall. It is calm and peaceful and the stones tell a story of men, great and not-so-great. It... More
