Said to be the larger of the two squares in the main town centre of Gibraltar, on visiting it, in parts it’s unclear where it ends and the adjoin streets begin with the overlap of stores and restaurants spilling over beyond what could be viewed as its core. A mishmash of the historic, just plain old and more recent developments as well as addition that have expanded the area. The square is both spectacular and disappointing in equal measure. The view and ambience are everything that is positive about this place. You are in little doubt of the history and the sense of the importance both culturally and communally the square still possess on the peninsula but the more recent developments over- looking it and the unsympathetic fast food and other convenience shops takes it now at least a notch. Recommend for the historical quick stop but not for the modern excesses that have encroached.…

The main weapon of Gibraltar is now not guns and casemates, but low tariffs without VAT on goods and services, including bars and restaurants. therefore, now bars and restaurants instead of casemates detain tourists by attracting them with low prices for beer and british scotch.

Visited this fantastic restaurant called Little Rock at Casemates Square several times during my recent trip to Gibralter. I recommend the steak or Fajitas as these are the best. Great service and reasonable prices compared to those in Ocean Village.

The square is lovely, but behind the cakes there is a shopping arcade, few shops are open, from souvenir, clothing, dance clothing and Moroccan artisanal product the last shop is like a little Marrakech full of treasures

Lively area with plenty of places to eat and drink even crepe and ice cream vendors. Here is where Roy's Cod Plaice can be found for the best fish and chips we have ever tasted. Even the tuna salad was really nice. There are interesting shops underneath the bastion through an arch. 2 old fashioned red telephone boxes and a post box are situated at one end. Nearby taxis wait to take tourists on a tour on the rock and/or 360 around the city.…
