With all the narrow streets in Santiago de Compostela this was a large opens space and one that you are sure to pass through more than once on your walks in the old town.It has some cafes and one side is the cathedral.

A very pleasant square to sit in round the side of the Cathedral, with good cafes, a seemingly-resident guitarist, a random assortment of beggars (some persistent) & a sun trap when the sun appears (not that often in April!).

This square can be accessed from the Via Sacra or the Plaza De Praterias. One side is the rear wall of the Cathedral, which is currently undergoing major renovation. Another is a Benedictine Nunnery previously famous as a place where the public could buy fresh...More

Older plaza next to the Cathedral. Lots of Camino hiker around. Took a few pictures to view the Cathedral. Busy place during most hours of the day.

Everyone should walk all the way around the cathedral. This square is quieter but affords great views of the historic buildings.

Hidden round the back of the cathedral, and so is often a bit quieter than the other tourist squares. Some bars and cafes so worth a sit and relax.
