In April, we did the self-guided Camino Frances from Sarria to Santiago in 6 days of walking. We had such an amazing experience throughout our journey. Nellie was amazing and supported us quickly with such professionalism and reliability. As soon as we arrived at the Santiago airport and got picked up by our driver, we were treated so well and he also gave us a lot of cultural and historical information on the region as he drove us to to Sarria. Nellie responded to our request for help immediately especially when we were having problems with our phones. We were very impressed with all the hotels especially the farm houses that exceeded our expectations!” Of all the places that we have stayed these places were the best! We were delighted on how clean the guest homes and hotels were. All the breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. I would definitely recommend Ultreya Tours to everyone who is interested in a self guided Camino Trip in Spain. It was one of the best experiences we had every had abroad.

We are one third into our Camino de Santiago adventure. I can say that, after almost 300 Km on the road, choosing Ultreya as our travel agent was the best choice. Extremely professional. They were very responsive during the planning period and the execution is just perfect.

Our group of 8 walked the Camino Sanabres from Ourense to Santiago de Compostela. We loved the Camino Sanabres experience with Ultreya tours. The extra touches in the welcome packs, vetting the guest houses, dinner at Nova and the massage at Hotel Spa Norat Torre do Deza were terrific. We really appreciated responsiveness of Nellie & Ultreya tours when we needed assistance. My 83 year old mother loved the charm of the places that we stayed and walking through the beautiful parts of Spain that we normally wouldn’t see. I personally appreciated Nellie’s patience with all of my questions and her understanding and assistance with planning this Camino for my group. She even made it easy to get the Compostelas at the end. Overall, this was a wonderful experience for both seasoned and new pilgrims. The walks were scenic (little asphalt walking). The guest houses were charming and the food homemade. Everyone along the Camino was very hospitable and kind.

My friend and I booked a 29 day walk starting in St. Jean and ending in Santiago from September - October of 2023... (we skipped the Meseta). At Sarria, friends and family joined us so we jumped from a group of 2 to a group of 8! Every step of the way, Ultreya Tours made this a perfect trip. Every hotel was welcoming and comfortable and just what we needed. Our luggage was always at the new location and the entire trip was seamless. The places they picked for us added to our experience. Each day, I did a one minute video as we were heading out, and as I listen back now, I always remarked how much we loved where we were staying. We can't wait to do our next Camino and without hesitation, we would use Ultreya to book it. They let us know where we should stop and what restaurants to try etc. They even booked us into some pilgrim dinners that we will never forget! While on the trip, my friend and I remarked often how much we loved the 2 star hotels; because, without exception, they were charming, clean, and made us feel welcomed and connected to the history of this beautiful pilgrimage. Additionally, Ultreya gave us a day by day itinerary so we knew what to look for and places of interest. The experience was everything we had hoped it would be and more. They took care of us every step of the way and so we got to put all our energies into walking and enjoying our experience. Buen Camino!

My husband and I have wanted to walk the Camino de Santiago for several years. Life and COVID got in the way, and we could only recently do so. My husband is 80 years old and I am in my 70’s. Because of our ages, we decided it would be smart to contract with a tour agency specializing in the Camino to help us plan and execute our journey. Our 2 daughters accompanied us.
We discovered and are beyond pleased with Ultreya Tours. Major factors involving us are 1) we are older; 2) we wanted to design a walk that would include the mileage we are comfortable walking (6 to 10 miles a day); 3) decent hotels with breakfast included; 4) luggage transfer to the next hotel; 5) the route we desired and specific dates we wanted to accomplish the Camino journey.
We decided on the Portuguese Interior Way to include the Spiritual Variant. We gave Ultreya Tours our parameters and we were emailed the travel itinerary. It included the towns with the hotels where we would be staying, the mileage we would walk each day, and other detailed information. One daughter has Celiac disease requiring a gluten-free diet. Thanks to Ultreya, she was fully accommodated at every hotel.

We have some thoughts on older people doing the Camino. We felt good that we had a reserved place to sleep each night. One time my husband (the 80-year-old) crashed—i.e. after three miles, he could not walk one more step. We were out in the middle of nowhere. Ultreya, having only coordinates, got a taxi to our location within 10 minutes, and drove him ahead to the next village and hotel. We had other glitches along the way that I am not sure we could have handled by ourselves. Ultreya handled them perfectly each and every time. Along the way, questions arose. Ultreya was responsive, professional, and followed our desires to a “T”. Looking back on our experience, we are glad that we did not try and set up everything ourselves. We are thankful that we had a local point of contact along the way to help us when situations arose. Each and every time, Ultreya Tours came through for us.
We both strongly recommend Ultreya Tours for your Camino journey. They are beyond outstanding!

We walked the last part of the coastal Portuguese Camino and spiritual variant with Ultreya tours and were impressed with their services and the trip. Nellie and her team provided a variety of great experiences that we would not have been able to have on our own. Everything went smoothly from our initial inquiry to our arrival in Santiago. The hotels and meals that Nellie arranged were beautiful, the taxis were waiting for us as needed, and everything was super smooth and easy. It was an amazing trip and we have many good memories. We booked the luxury tour which we thought was very reasonably priced and so worth it. We would use Ultreya tours again in a second, highly recommend.

I strongly recommend Ultreya Tours. We had an amazing and wonderful pilgrimage; and Ultreya’s support allowed was key. Due to the composition of our group; we were not quite sure we would all make it to Santiago de Compostela together. But we did!
Nellie was responsive and kind and she is passionate abt the Camiño. Our team needed quite a bit more time on some of the days, and we really really appreciated the responsiveness to support us in changes of logistics on the fly.

Our El Camino adventure was over two years in the making. We had everything booked and then COVID came along. Two years later we were back in touch with Ultreya. We were determined. Nellie helped us tailor a hike that was perfect for us. She booked wonderful accommodations at every stop, She was totally supportive at every step of the way (and there are lots of steps!). Thank you Nellie for a perfect adventure!

I travel extensively and decided to walk the Camino for 2.5 weeks alone on very short notice. Nellie absolutely handled everything beautifully. My accomodations, meals, ground transport and luggage transfers were flawless. I was absolutely delighted by the country pensione accomodations--intimate, charming and exactly what I wanted--she exceeded expectations. She also chose the remote locations to be sure that the dinners and breakfasts were up to her standards--and they were--I was so surprised by the food--fresh and excellent. What a treat!
As we planned the trip she answered every question quickly and completely. The package of information that she provided was so helpful and left nothing to doubt. My Spanish is virtually nonexistent so her planning is what made the trip work.
I had the pleasure of meeting her and sharing coffee and stories and I would never use anyone else.

I am a very seasoned traveler (Europe and Latin America). They helped me with one of my finest experiences. I put myself in their hands for almost three weeks and never had a concern. Whether you want to walk the Camino like me or just explore the Santiago-Finisterre area, Ultreya will take great care of you. They will provide you with the personal touch to make your visit special: reliable guides, accomodations, guidance. There is no place in Europe like Santiago and the coming together of both tourists and pilgrims in this medieval town. If you can, walk there.You will never do anything better for yourself. If you are not so inclined, just show up with Ultreya's assistance and enjoy. I'll be back next year. You can't just go there once.
