About
Andaspain Walking Adventures specialises in fully-guided, self-guided and private tailor-made itineraries along the Camino de Santiago. We are a passionate group of pilgrim guides that, above all, make your experience our priority. We started Andaspain because we love the Camino de Santiago. We know that walking long distances in foreign lands can be a big undertaking and our mission is to clear the path ahead for you. We organise every last detail to ensure you can be free to live the magic of the Camino de Santiago. Spending the majority of the year on foot along the Camino, we know it better than we know our own backyard. Over the years we have fostered personal relationships with the shop-keepers, restaurant staff, and B&B owners that support pilgrims on their journey. Our boutique tour company makes it possible for anyone to experience a life-changing journey on the Camino de Santiago.

Kate was wonderful! She was very responsive and when I accidentally lost my journal, she called a couple of people to look for it and not only did they find it, they brought it to me at my hotel. The camino is a beautiful experience and at the end of the day, you're tired and mentally exhausted as well as physically echausted. Knowing that Kate and Andaspain were taking care of the details was a luxury and investment well worth it. I highly recommend the rural house experience (if you can make it work) and would also recommend staying a couple days in Santiago to really enjoy and appreciate all that you've accomplished. I would (and plan to!) go with Andaspain for future caminos.

We had a marvelous time on a self-guided trip arranged by Kate/Andaspain. We had some novice hikers in our group, but Kate was always available to make suggestions, and tweak the itinerary so that we can craft a trip that would be comfortable for all. She was extremely responsive to changes (some of them very last minute) and with her meticulous planning, we had the peace of mind knowing that our bags would be safely transferred, that we would have a place for the night and that she was just a phone call away. We did not have to worry about any of the details that come with a long distance walk.
Greatest compliment to Kate and Andaspain is that we did not want the walk to end, and we are already thinking of another walk with Andaspain.

I've walked the Camino twice with Andaspain. In September 2019 we walked the last 100km and in September 2021 we did the Best of the Camino. Both experiences were fabulous and this was primarily due to Andaspain. Vanessa, Ashleigh, Kate were all great as well as Malina and Jorge (our guides on the 2021 trip). They took care of every detail throughout both trips. I've traveled the world extensively - in groups, in pairs, solo etc. and if you are planning to go to Spain and are thinking about walking the Camino I would highly recommend using Andaspain to create a life changing experience. Not only did they take care of all of the details, we received so much historical info along the way about each region we were in, and they even ordered food for us at many of the locations so we could try all of the specialties from each region. There is no way we would have experienced what we did if we went as a group on our own. Most Americans are familiar with places like London, Italy, and Paris but are not as familiar with Spain. Spain has such a rich history, exquisite architecture and great food/wine. You can experience all of this and also the scenery and all that the Camino experience has to offer by using Andaspain. You can thank me later!

From the moment we arrived to Sarria we felt at ease because we can tell we were in the hands of an expert. The way he explained the overall experience, plus what to expect every day was excellent. The accommodations and the dinner and picnic choices added to the culinary culture and experience. Lorenzo went out of his way to give us the cultural experience by showing his knowledge, experience, kindness, and the true meaning of El Camino.

This was my 3rd fully guided tour with Andaspain and it was AMAZING! Every day there was beautiful scenery, delicious food, comfortable accomodations, and laughter! The local guides took care of all the details so that we could focus on walking, learning about the local culture and having a fabulous time. Some days the walks were very challenging, but the guides were always there to assist for whatever each person needed and everyone finished the walk each day. The Best of the Camino del Norte tour itinerary is well planned with enough rest time each day to be able to walk again the next day and the execution at all levels is flawless. I can't recommend this Best of the Camino del Norte tour and Andapspain highly enough! I will use them again for my next Camino adventure in Spain.

Our tour guides were wonderful and encouraging. We'd only walked about 10 miles tops ever, yet were able to make it easily the 12 to 18 miles a day on our trip. The pace of the 6-day trip was a little fast for us, not leaving quite enough time to linger at bars, cafes and shops along the way, but if you can't afford to take more time off, you'll still get an amazing Camino experience. If we do another segment in the future, we'll opt for 8 to 10 miles a day, and maybe a day off in between, to make it a little more leisurely. We really enjoyed the variety of accommodations, from a modern boutique hotel, to an old farm house to a converted monastery. Food and drinks were plentiful, and our fellow pilgrims very nice and chill. The guides felt like old friends by the end of the trip, and from the very beginning, the tour operators were efficient and provided excellent, personalized service. Highly recommend!

My daughter and I went on a guided walk with Andaspain for the last 100km of the Camino Francés two years ago and then on a self-guided walk on the Portuguese Camino last year. We look forward to a self-guided walk on the Norte this year with them. They are so professional and do a great job in the planning and orchestrating of the trips and we would highly recommend them if you are thinking of walking on any of the Caminos to Santiago de Compostela.

From the first night we arrived in Portugal to our goodbyes in Santiago, Spain, the Andaspain staff were with us every step of the Way. We didn't have to worry about one thing. They planned beautiful lodging, delicious meals, snacks, made sure we saw all the sites we came to see and made sure each of us (16 women) were safe, happy, and all our needs attended to. I would highly recommend Andaspain to anyone. They will create your bucket list trip on any part of the Camino. Thank-you Vanessa, Ashleigh, Malina, Cal for your vibrant , energetic, hospitality! We will be back to walk Camino #3 in the future and have you as our guides!

walking the camino has been on my bucket list for years and years. somehow i never fully had the time or energy to plan it and do it .... until (hooray) i found out about andaspain walking adventures. absolutely the greatest gift i could give myself was having this company take care of me. it wasn't really "the company".. it was vanessa, borja and jorge. they made my arrangements for lodging and meals, they planned my itinerary for each day, they'd remind me of the perfect little church stop i'd want to make, they were waiting for me during long stretches with snacks and a water refill if needed ( i always needed the chocolate), they'd let me know how far a walk to the next bathroom, coffee, beer or passport stamp, they'd sometimes walk with me and the others in our group, they'd teach me about the camino, they'd listen when i wanted to talk about what i was learning on my pilgrimage. words cannon begin to express what a joy my camino was with the kind and practical assistance of the awesome people at andaspain. (dear andaspain, thank you so much for being a part of my journey, elizabeth)

On September 2021, we have walked a short part of the Camino del Norte, Starting from San Sebastian and heading towards Bilbao.
It was our first time to hike in such a way with our teens, and we were slightly concerned about the technicalities (what distances should we walk, what is expected in case of rain etc.).
We contacted Andaspain and came across Kate who was extremely kind to us. She was helpful, full of good advise and patient to all of our questions.
We are extremely thankful to Andaspain for helping us arrange an unforgettable trip and we surely recommend Andaspain to others who seek to walk the Camino in a comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable way.
We will surely be back for more!
