Lovely square, at the back of the cathedral
Jul 2020
Praza da Inmaculada is located between the San Martino Pinario Monastery and the cathedral facade. The square is very beautiful, surrounded by two fantastic baroque facades. There are two small gardens in the middle of a small square. You will find here a kind of hedge of multi-colored plants, some trees and a statue.

Where to remain immaculate in Santjago de Compostela?
Jun 2019
Immaculate square adjoins the Northern facade of the Cathedral. This facade is the most unloaded, passable. This is not a Grand Western facade that you can admire endlessly. This is not the South facing Plaza Praterias, where the entrance to the Cathedral is located. And, finally, not the Eastern one, where the Holy gate is located-the Porta Santa, through which the entrance to the Cathedral of pilgrims is carried out in happy years, when St. James's day on July 25 falls on a Sunday and the gate opens. And there is nothing. I looked at the Cathedral from the North, turned back to the Monastery of San Martino Pinario with its strict symmetry, and went on. Remaining immaculate, because contemplation doesn`t lead to sin ...

Impressive Plaza Bordered By The Cathedral And Monastery
May 2019
This was one of many very interesting places in Santiago de Compostela Spain. It is flanked by the elaborate old cathedral and the equally impressive Monastery de San Martino Pinario. There is much to see in this fascinating old and historical town.

Pilgrimage
Sep 2019
I had a private guide to show me around the city. I had been learning a lot from him. 3 hours worth a lot. Walking and around. He answered my questions very well with explanations.

A beauty flanked by History
Oct 2019
A beauty flanked by History: from the IXth century Church in the Cathedral, to one of the most important core Cathedrals from the Romanesque, to the wonderful Baroque Convent, a must, the best example in Galicia.

We stayed here and loved it. Lots of people around and market stalls. Close to everything. Loved the crowds of people and hearing all the different languages

This Is A Great Plaza
May 2019 • Friends
My wife and I stayed in Santiago in May for 5 days after walking part of the Camino and stayed in an apartment overlooking this very Plaza. Full of life from the very early hours of the morning, it was great to sit and people watch as they walked through here on their way to the Cathedral square.

There were also plenty of buskers here as well of traders and merchants selling their wares.

A great place to spend some time.

Impressive Space Between The Cathedral And The Monastary
May 2019 • Couples
To the north of the Cathedral you will find the Monastary San Martino Pinario and in the space between these two very impressive buildings you will find this square. It is impressive because of the surrounding buildings. The Monastary is massive and one of the largest building complexes in Europe as well

Majestic space between the Cathedral and the Monastery of San Martiño Pinario
Sep 2018 • Friends
This large square is effectively the space between the Cathedral's North façade (and exit door) and the Monastery of San Martiño Pinario. These two religious institutions were originally in fierce competition. In fact, the Monastery was built the wrong way round on its plot to make sure its façade would be seen by worshippers leaving the Cathedral. Turn left from the Cathedral exit and you will walk downhill through an archway into the iconic Plaza do Obradoiro; turn the other and the street will take you into the heart of the shopping area in the old city and eventually to the Praza Cervantes. There are nice ornamental gardens in front of the Monastery and plenty of seating on low walls. One of the most important locations in Santiago.
