This wonderful square is one of those that surrounds the Cathedral of Santiago. In it is the Holy Door that only opens in the Holy years. It also highlights its wonderful staircase that gives access to the Casa de La Parra. In the stork center you can not miss it.

The Praza da Quintana is a public square adjacent to the cathedral and divided into two different levels. The lower one is called Quintana de Mortos and was originally a burial ground until the late 18th century, when it was moved to a new cemetery for public health reasons. The east side and west sides of the square are bound by Monastery of San Paio de Antealtares and Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela respectively. The north and south sides by the Casa de la Parra and Casa de la Congo respectively, and also where the cafes are. Much of the square is clear to accommodate the religious processions of the cathedral. The square is an amazing place.

Best for walking and viewing. Worthwhile to visit indoor and outdoor surround blocks. Took my time and enjoyed very much. You will never regret it. Recommend to visit this city and stay.

We enjoyed the view of the cathedral from this side as well, and visited the museum of pilgrimage afterwards. Worth a visit

Nice square, tower one side, beautiful buildings surround. Stop here for a coffee in the cafe or just sit and oak it up. Lovely

Praza da Quintana is a small square with a great side view of cathedral, it’s also one of the entry points for the Cathedral.

Also in Praza is a large water fountain and surrounded by nice historical building just what you would except in a city this old.

On the other side of the cathedral. Restauration activities taking place, probably quite necessary. Nice terraces around, on low and high side.

A group of 11 stayed here after our Camino. Very good location, close to the Cathedral. They have a 24 hour complimentary cafe which is a very good idea and which we thorougly enjoyed. The staff are friendly and efficent. A point of some rooms have vaulted ceilings, i stayed in a room which looked large but I could not walk freely where the ceiling was reclining.

It is located on the other side of the cathedral parallel to that of Obradoiro, divided by the staircase into that of the living and the dead and where the entrance door to the cathedral is, it has several places to stop, rest and have a drink and on certain days you can see the processions
