The old section of Tarragona is just the right size - not too big or too small yet teeming with history and culture - churches, palaces, Roman ruins, museums and more. Simply wandering the narrow, cobbled stone alleys is a delight. If you get hungry, there are plenty of places to fill up, have a drink and soak up the atmosphere of a bygone era. Bear in mind, people live here, so please be respectful.

It's a really lovely square in the heart of the old town of Tarragona, filled with coffee shop and restaurants and beautiful old architecture, we very much liked it here and we would recommend a visit.

If you love photographing cities as I do Tarragona is a wonderland. Short historic narrow streets abruptly end and provide compelling terminating vistas. Mediterranean light washes the city in an ever-changing interplay of shadow and light. Slightly decayed facades and rich colors frame textured streets worn over the ages. As if you were filming a car commercial, each morning the city washes the streets adding texture, reflection, sparkles of light and depth. And all the while people move in and out of these spaces punctuating the drama of being in and trying to capture the essence of Tarragona.

History, roman ruins, medieval vestiges, new buildings, art, shopping, dining and the last but not the least…beaches. Many and all great. All places that I’ve seen inspire me to simply characterize them in two words. Tarragona in two words will be: Sunny, Mediterranean. The sun feels much brighter here. Me and my friends spent two days in Taragona in September and we enjoyed every single minute. It is a common destination for its beaches and being close to Barcelona so it has been said a lot about it, nothing more I can bring in here but some fresh pictures. Cheers!
