Popped in said hello and popped out again on the way to Seville. Old but clean in this ancient city. Well lit

Clean, nice train station, which is much faster and cheaper to reach Madrid than Barcelona train station. It's only 2 hours from Madrid with renfe

A bit like Lleida itself-let down by its toilets
Aug 2017 • Solo
It is a very impressive station a fine façade and some modern walkways in side; good communications in side the building with some spacious buffet areas. It was only the toilets that let it down-a common problem in transit areas.

Lleida Train Station

Impressive architecture, worth looking at. A great hotel here as well, modern, clean and not noisy at all.

A bit like lleida itself , modern and old together
May 2016 • Friends
I love spanish trains. Fast and smooth. The booking process however is another story.

You arrive in this station which feels huge. Great sweeps of modern canopies keep it cool and it feels like you have arrived at a station built for a big city. Then you file down a corridor slightly too small for the number of people from the train and arrive in lleida. A 19th century station has the major modern part behind it.

Walk straight ahead along the road between shops to get to placa san joan

Lleida is a strange mix. Not really very well geared up to tourists yet, especially english speaking ones but welcoming and friendly. A mix of a regional city with what seems like every third shop being a shoe shop!

Some frankly very odd modern architecture ( the placa san joan , which they knocked down a thirteenth century church to extend) sits sometimes harmoniously sometimes in uneasy juxtaposition to much older including romanesque buildings.

A great base for the pyrenees, but also a particularly importany site to visit for history and art and architecture in and of itself, this city.

Spacious and convenient
Apr 2015
It's quite a nice looking train station, and is quite large for a city of only 100,000. It makes for great connections to Barcelona in the east, and Zaragoza in the west. You can also get trains to many of the surrounding villages and towns.

Old place with history
Nov 2015 • Solo
Seen from the front façade this railway station gives an impressive look which marvels many an eye. Seen form behind it is another thing. Some years ago a brilliant mind decided to give a modern touch to this building. The result? It has lost its charming attraction it had had for so long. The only beautiful part is the front one, the rest is forgettable. This building houses a hotel (Transit Hotel) plus a cafeteria and some shops.
