What the heck am I supposed to be

This monument stands in tribute to Carles Rahola Llorens, a Spanish (or Catalan if you prefer) journalist , writer , historian and politician. This monument was in memory death sentence and execution when the Nationalist forces entered Girona during the Spanish Civil War.

The monument consists of a square pedestal with the name Carles Rahola carved into it. Atop the pedestal is a sculpture and I literally have little idea what it's supposed to depict. It appears to be 2 women standing in a row. The woman behind has her hand on the shoulder of the one in front. The women in front could be scratching her neck wondering, "What the heck am I supposed to be?"

Nestled next to the Tourist info place on the Rambla, it's easy to miss this odd little monument to the murdered journalist. Google his name for all the info:)
There is another monument honouring him near the air raid shelter and playground near the Wall access at Placa de Jacint Verdauger I Santaio. The statue there is a bronze of a plaster done in 1939, bronzed in 2009, 70 years since the journo Carles was murdered. Interesting that you can get the statue, the medieval wall and a childrens' playground all In the same photo. I have included photos from the second location that are linked to the first monument.
