We loved our six day cycle tour. It’s hard to select highlights but the climb over the mountains and the descent on the first day was breathtaking, wonderful views. The accommodation was excellent with La Rectoria and the Trias at Palamos as standouts. Girona was fascinating: we loved our time there, a beautiful medieval city. Mark was helpful and cheery at all times, even when civil disruption challenged arrangements on our last day. The maps and Garmin were generally helpful, apart from leaving Girona. But then, who would want to leave Girona? E bikes were wonderful, particularly as we are no our seventies and could probably not make it under our own steam!

We have just completed a 10 day combined biking / walking tour organized by Mark at Cycle Catala it. It was an excellent experience throughout, from the initial contact with Mark by email to the completion of the trip. We wanted to both cycle and walk, so Mark put together a bespoke trip thatn. We only have positives to say about catered to our wishes. We cycled for 4 days on greenways through verdant valleys, from St. Joan de Abadesses to Palamos on the coast. We then switched pedals for feet and spent 5 days walking up along the coast, then inland through medieval towns. Great variety. Every detail was well organized. Equipment was top notch, directions were clear, with GPS, maps, & notes. Accommodations were well selected & very comfortable. Where provided as part of the trip, meals were excellent and in other towns dining recommendations were helpful. Things went so smoothly that we did not require assistance, but Mark was readily available and on top of our progress, never intrusive but ever open to feedback. His goal is to insure that his clients are fully satisfied, and he succeeded admirably with us. Thanks again Mark for a great holiday!

It’s always a little scary booking a trip like this, especially overseas. But I could not have been happier with the experience. Wonderful people who really go out of their way to make sure their customers have a great time. I would book with them again in a heartbeat.

We went in the Easter holidays and had a fantastic holiday. The routes were all clearly marked out and were very easy to follow. The bikes were in excellent order and we were able to manage the distances with ease. The 3 hotels were all very different but all special in their own way. Mark and Shelly were excellent hosts and went out of their way to make our holiday special. We will definitely be coming back

This was our first bike tour and it was really well organized. Mark and Shelly were great, and provided support and help as needed. The bike paths were very good to ride on, and the scenery spectacular. I would highly recommend this self guided bike tour “Mountains to the sea”
