Very cozy and educational place. Been there for more than an hour, and could spend even more. Most exciting pieces of photo and cinema equipment. Some interactive features. Very detailed explanation, and terrific idea with audio guide on your own smartphone. Enjoyed every part of the main exhibit and clearly will try to bring my kids here.

In the museum you can get acquainted with the history of theater and cinema. Here there are such rare exhibits as a camera obscura; the first film projector of the Lumiere brothers, which appeared in the 19th century; as well as optical illusions created with the help of mirrors and the play of light.

A very interesting museum and well worth a visit. We were the only people there for the bulk of our visit. All exhibits had explanations in English and many of them were `hands on` so children would enjoy it too. Everything was very well presented.

I absolutely loved this museum. Very clearly laid out. Lots to see and do. Had great fun playing with the digitised magic lantern images. Lots of short films to see. Friendly staff, and a really interesting exhibition on the spectator.

I was amazed to visit this museum and find out all the treasures it shows, from the very beginning of Photography's History, going through all the 19th century, until the first films arrive. I had never seen, in Paris, London, Lisbon, Rome, etc., such a magnificent collection of techniques and such wonderful machines.

Honestly, I liked this museum way more than the art museum and the tour through the cathedral.
There's so much thought put into the three floors of the cinema museum - lots of moving stuff, interactive models of camera obscura and various optical illusions placed throughout the entire path, different cameras, projectors and so much more.

I felt like a kid thanks to this museum and I didn't want to leave. If you like cinema and at least just a bit interested in how static images evolved into what cinema is right now, just go for it. You won't be disappointed.

Just make sure that you have at least a couple hours for the visit. Time flies by in this place :)

This is not to be missed. It is an amazing journey through the development of technology to create moving images. There are brilliant displays of shadow puppetry, zoetropes, magic lanterns, editing machines and cameras. This truly is a hidden gem in the city of Girona.

Don't miss this museum! It tells the story of story-telling via images. It starts with the first play with shadows around the fire in the caves and proceeds to the 21st century. You can experience hands-on the beautiful devices that were used throughout the ages for capturing the imagination of audiences. Children and adults both will have a great time!

On a day trip to beautiful Girona from Barcelona we decided to drop in to the Cinema Museum on our way back to the railway station. What a wonderful find this was. The museum is laid out in time zones and chronologically charts the history of photography and cinema and displays an amazing amount of interactive paraphernalia and very interesting information. The assistant at the entrance was amazingly helpful with telling us how the collection was started by a local cinema buff which was eventually purchased by the local authorities and put on display. My standout items were the original costume worn by Russell Crowe in "Master and Commander" and Dustin Hoffman's long red dress from my favourite movie ever "Tootsie". It was amazing to find this fantastic museum displaying such items in such a small city in regional Spain. Unfortunately we had a train to catch so we weren't able to stay longer at the museum than we would have liked. Its worth a return visit to Spain just to go back and enjoy a more in-depth look at this great attraction. Dont miss it.
