Plenty of places to cross and view the fish but when we were there it was very hot so they were sluggish. The red iron bridge has featured in films.

Passing quietly (at least while we were there) thru Girona, the river effectively divides the old from the new. Walking across the small bridges that span the river produces views of the old and color buildings on both sides (a sunny day is best) and photos are to be had. We agree with other reviewers who stated that the river... More

Personally, I think this wide (and shallow) river with the coloured houses on each side is a major distinction of this city. It is the divide between the old town and the new. It is another feature that makes Gerona what it is. The river is shallow, maybe only 2'-3' deep, and you will see some large carp swimming around... More

The colored homes along thre River on a sunny day are breathtaking. Loved our stroll along the river. So beautiful. Go when the light is low to get the full affect of the stunning color along this pretty River.

More of a steam or almost non existent through the city. Splits led from new with lots of bridges to make access easier Plenty of stacked houses close to edge which are very pretty

It's a waterway separating Old Girona and New Girona. The colorful buildings that line the river make for great pictures.

Nothing startling about this except the design of the houses that front onto the creek in case of flood.

As beautiful as the river running through Castres in France but bigger and more magnificent. Take the time to stop on the bridge which gives you a fist class view.

First I was a bit disappointed when I thought there wasn't any water at all in the Onyar. I stood on the wrong place were the flow of the water seemed to be blocked. But then, after a short walk, there was the stunning view of the colourful houses with their reflection on the water. Unforgettable!

Beautiful views of the houses along the river. They are all different shapes and colours and stand out so well on a sunny day.
