My wife and I spent a summer week in 2023 riding a custom tour with Bikecat and had a terrific time. From the diverse terrain, to the beautiful scenery, to the genuine thought and care that went into all of it, it was a week we will never forget.
Jaume, his wife Debbie, and fellow guide Josep were wonderful not only in planning and leading the rides, but also in providing support before, during, and after them. They rotate through either leading the group, driving the SAG van, or taking custom photographs from key vantage points.
They begin the day by meeting you as you finish breakfast at your hotel. The bikes are prepared before they lead the group out. The rides can be altered to to your wishes, and either extended or cut short. If the group chooses to end the day’s ride, as we did, in a beautiful restaurant on the Mediterranean coast, then everyone is comfortably transported back to the hotel. On other days the rides begin and end at the hotel. Within each, there are stops for both coffee and lunch at some great spots.
Mechanical support, water, and nutrition are immediately provided at any point if necessary.
Girona’s terrain is so varied, that no two rides are the same. We rode seven out of eight days, with a day off the bikes mid-week.
Girona is of course known as one of the finest cycling cities and areas in the world, but what set this trip apart, was the personalized touch that each member of the Bikecat team works to provide.
All have a tremendous sense of pride in the city and Catalan region, and that adds a great deal to the experience. From historical and cultural knowledge, to the selection of restaurants and advice about attractions when off the bike, Jaume, Debbie, and Josep go above and beyond.
This was far more than a cycling vacation.
Lorrie and I would strongly recommend Bikecat.

THESE FOLKS ARE THE BEST!!! Our group did a one week trip in the Girona and Costa Brava area. We've done several other cycling tours and can confidently say that BikeCat deserves all of the great reviews! Every aspect of the trip was well organized and constructed to maximize the guest experience. The rides were well laid out and captured some of the most beautiful views ever! And the support on the ride was flawless in every way. Rental bike equipment was top notch and underwent daily maintenenace and checks.
The guides were great and found ways to engage with everyone in the group. Accommodations were terrific and BikeCat literally thought of everything including making a masseuse available on a daily basis! Jaume and team are also "foodies" who choose great restaurants to insure that everyone is well fed!
And a photographer was on all the rides to capture some great lasting memories for everyone.
Once again, these folks are just the best and I give my highest possible recommendation.

We had already rented bikes when we found BikeCat in Girona. It is a great shop with awesome people. We wandered in and talked for a half hour with one of the owners - they were so helpful. They also sell really cool jerseys. We hope to work with them on a future trip to Spain.

I was lucky to be introduced to Jaume and Bikecat at a function held in Calgary last fall hosted by Ridley's bike shop and friends who had been on trips with Bikecat. Once our decison to go to Girona to ride had been made, everything else was easy. Bikecat handled our hotel reservation, outstanding bike rentals and offered fabulous restaurant recommendations. We had an outstainding guided day ride to the Costa Brava and balance of our rides were self guided. This is a great option where you follow a route loaded on a Garmin GPS after discussing what you wanted to do that day with Jaume. You would never find a lot of these beautiful quiet roads your own. I now understand why the pros live and ride in this beautful cycling destination. Jaume and Debbie are great hosts.

I am a club level road rider based in the UK and go on 2-3 cycling camps year. Previous destinations have included Italy, Switzerland and Spain. Our club generally seeks supported trips with good food, comfortable accomodation, warm weather, a range of climbs and quiet roads. Girona was excellent on the terrain/weather front, convenient on the airport transfer, and Bikecat impressed on the rest. Initial queries were promptly replied and all details were covered including routes (with extensions), cafe stops and even evening restaurant venues. A couple of our members had an accident and bikecat went out of their way to ensure they had appropriate treatment. Thanks Jaume/Debbie and team! D

Jaume, Debbie and the Bikecat guides were all absolutely amazing throughout the duration of our visit. From setting up our bikes with the highest spec kit to the guided tours themselves- everything was flawless.
The bikes are ex- Garmin team bikes of the highest spec so rest assured you're getting the best!
Cannot recommend these guys enough and hope to visit and use them again soon.

I have been to visit Girona a few times in the past 7 years, it is a wonderful historic and vibrant city! On my first visit to Girona, my husband and I discovered Bikecat! I have been back with Bikecat on both trips I have made back to the area with friends. I am thinking of visiting Catalonia again in this coming year, maybe in the fall this time, and was doing a little research and now see Bikecat is on Trip Advisor. Jaume and Debbie are so professional and thorough, thinking of everything to make the most of our time for each of our visits to the area. They are also such wonderful and personable people, with a tremendous local knowledge of the area for the best cycling routes for various abilities and interests. I and the people I have traveled with are casual cyclists with further interests in the the culture, local foods and wines, and natural areas. Jaume and Debbie customized each trip to include a variety of perfect experiences for our parties. They planned moderate rides for us through beautiful and interesting areas in the Girona province. Along each route they took us to terrific restaurants, historic sites and villages, through beautiful countryside and to impressive natural areas. We also went on many non-cycling excursions with Debbie to many cities and villages such as Barcelona and Cadeques, and to a couple of great birding locations. They were both very helpful in also giving us recommendations on what we could do on our own as well, and interesting times of year to visit. One of my favorite times I have been there was when I visited in May during the Girona Flower Festival! I will be contacting Bikecat again for my next visit :-)

Some friends of mine who enjoyed a tour with Bikecat a couple of years ago recommended a tour with them. When I finally got around to visiting Girona, I made my reservation with Bikecat for a week of solid riding to keep my form up while nursing a slight injury --and to enjoy the countryside, the food and wine of the Girona area. Since my friends recommended these guys highly, I knew I would be in good hands --but the guided rides with good advice and anecdotes for training and racing (and for good, simple recovery), plus all that damn good food... so excellent! A big part of the pleasure is merely that Girona is a very, very special place for cycling. No one knows this area better than Jaume at Bikecat. These guys have the best job in the world, and they do it very well.

We fell in love with Girona while cycling all around the area with guides Jaume and Josep. We rode for 5 days that included some great climbs, gorgeous scenery and the beautiful Costa Brava. The Bikecat shop was located in the historic area of the city, with great staff that were very attentive to customer service. The bikes that were provided were top quality and the latest models. Very comfortable to ride. We will go back again and definitely utilize the services of the Bikecat staff. We highly recommend Bikecat for any cycling adventure!

I was in Barcelona, tagging along on my wife's business trip. She had work all day on a Monday, so I took a 38 minute train to Girona (about $30 round trip) and walked to BikeCat. Jaume and Alberto were waiting for me with my rented bike. They asked me what I wanted to see, how far I wanted to go, and they made some recommendations. I ended up going 85km with Alberto, starting with a moderate climb to the beautiful Els Angeles and then down into a coastal plane with one after another beautiful medieval town that looked like it hadn't changed in 1,000 years.
Alberto rode ahead and took many pictures, a selection of which he sent me the next day. We had lunch in Monells in a courtyard that has certainly been the setting for Hollywood films. The entire experience (round trip train, bike rental, guide, and lunch) cost me about $200. That's the best $200 I've spent in a long time.
