Bike Breaks really made my visit to Girona last year. It was the first time I had been there so didn’t know the place at all. But Bike Breaks was recommended by a friend. And for good reason. Really friendly staff that can’t do enough for you. The ebike I hired was spot on. And the biggest praise I can give them is that they got the fit so right that I was able to ride 50 miles completely free of back pain for the first time in years. Which I haven’t been able to replicate since I got home. I had planned to get out to Girona again this summer, sadly that didn’t work out but as soon as the world is back to normal I’m booking my bike hire again. When I was there was during the cycling festival which was organised by Bike Breaks, seeing the cycling around the old city during the evening race was something I’ll never forget. PS Girona is probably the nicest city I’ve ever visited the place and the people are unlike anywhere I’ve been.

When you hire a bike, you just want to go for your ride without fuss.. And our first experience with Bike Breaks was exactly that! We walked in, warmly welcomed, asked for the name, got the bikes and off we went! It felt silky smooth! The bikes were a beauty and perfectly fitted before our arrival (kudos to the mechanic). (As much as I wanted to get going I had a small problem with my map, but for Bike Breaks it was no problem at all.. I gave them my gps, and a few seconds later the map was re-installed and ready to go.. (another kudos to the girl who helped me) The bikes are well speced, well maintained, super clean and pretty much a joy to ride! Clearly the owners and the people that work there know their business, and am pretty sure it is a passion, not just a job.. Well done bike breaks! I’ll definitely recommend you and be a repeat customer when back in Girona! “Five star, all the way” Muchas gracias John

Had a 4 night break in Girona & decided to hire some bikes for a day cycling. Went to Bike breaks cycle shop our first full day & enquired about this. The assistant said Thursday would be the best day & Tuesday the worst. We said we were flying home Thursday so she said Wednesday might be ok. We sorted bikes & she asked us if we wanted to pay for them which we did. It was about £64. Wednesday came & the weather was still pretty bad. Raining, thundery storms & very dull. We went into the shop on the morning & said could we have our money refunded because we didn’t want to cycle that day & couldn’t cycle any other day because of going home. A different assistant said we had to give a weeks notice to cancel. We obviously couldn’t have done that because we only hired the bikes 2 days previously. When we were asked if we wanted to pay we were not informed about any of this. I felt as a gesture of good Will they could have refunded us the money. I will never use Bike breaks again & most certainly would never recommend them.

Spent a few days in Girona early October and chose Bike Breaks for their great selection of bikes to hire. I found the communication regarding the rental first rate with Dave being particularly helpful around arranging a slightly different cassette for me. On arrival the fitting was friendly, prompt and efficient and they were happy to set the bike up according to bike fit details I usually carry with me when hiring bikes anywhere. The bike I hired was in superb condition and was faultless during the four days of riding around the mountains and coast nearby. Price wise it was in line with other bikes I've hired elsewhere but I'd say the spec here was much better than I usually hire as Cannondale System Six Aero is a great ride (like a caged tiger in the flats and rollers if a touch sluggish in the climbs). Returned the bike via their convenient hotel pick up service at the nearby Hotel Ultonia. All in all an excellent service and rental bike and I'd recommend them highly and use them again without hesitation should I return to sunny Girona (which I hope to do). Five stars.

The guide managed to keep the group together, even though there were different abilities in the group. Laid back and enjoyable ride with some great people from all over the world. We also hired bikes from the shop and couldn't fault them in anyway.
