I have been here several times with my dog for a walk. You can easily reach it from the town Banyoles and there are some nice wide pathways to walk around with many benches to sit and relax. It is also very relaxing to sit at one of the bars around the lake and just enjoy view.

Very nice lake, maybe the largest natural lake in Catalonia. In Catalanian is called <Estany>.We have spent a relaxing morning drinking coffee, juice and eating delicious tapas . Lots of people and children did water sports and swimming.

I've been here a few times with my wife. It's very large and well maintained, the air is fresh, and it's a delightful place to go for a stroll (or a swim).

2.50 euros on the bus from Girona bus station or cycle up from Girona very pretty crystal clear lake, banyoles itself has one or two pretty shops but once you have spoilt yourself in Girona it doesn't compare!

A lot like the Lake District only with sunshine, lovely town with a market on Wednesdays. Take a cruise round the lake, swim in it or hire a canoe or rowing boat. Bike hire is also available, a lovely bike ride around the lake

2h walk around it. Peaceful and beautiful. Great for a morning jogging or to rent a rowing boat I wish we could see more birds or wild life

This is the most beautiful and charming Spanish town with an incredible lake. The water is glass clear, warm in the summer and you can swim or row on it...amongst the fish, ducks and other wildlife. It is beautiful to walk around under the tree lined paths and woodland. You can either pay 11 euros for swimming access to the... More

I had a lovely walk around this lake while I was staying in Girona. It's very easy to catch a bus from Girona to Banyoles, but don't forget to buy your ticket in the bus station otherwise you'll annoy the bus driver! The lake is beautiful. It takes about an hour and a half to walk all the way around... More

This is a lovely lake which is a protected area so great care is taken in its conservation. You can take an electric boat ride round the shores, it is very peaceful and an hour of gliding along is very relaxing! Note the small houses dotted around on the shores, some left to ruin but some are well maintained. These... More
