We walked Girona's old town during two hours. Started and finished at the same point. Our guide did not stop talking all the time pointing at the main touristic points but also at many small details, anecdotes of some movies or tv shows, historic highlights, etc. .. we enjoyed having such a different view of the city!

I loved the tour, the histories and the knowledge that Josefina shared with us, it was a lovely experience. Girona is a beautiful city, with a lot of history and interesting places that are worth visiting. Their history pf independence is inspiring, thanks you Girona and free tours for making of this trip a memorable experience.

Girona! Surprised by how much history is enclosed in the city.
Great tour, well paced and interesting.
Although not included in the tour, we followed the guide’s recommendation to explore the walls. Awesome view of the city.

We have enjoyed quite a few “free tours” in the past – Toledo, Madrid etc – and have always tipped generously at the end, as you should.

So we were delighted to see a free English language walking tour was available for Girona as we were staying nearby. So we signed up and looked forward to the day!
The guide for the day was Ricardo. He started his tour at the meeting place where he recounted, in excessive detail, the origins of the city and its location. He continued in the same vein for the next two stops. By the time we had reached the Eiffel Bridge we could take no more and quietly slipped away.

Why?

The guide spoke quickly in a monotone voice and provided far more detail than was necessary or needed. He did not engage with his group nor did he interact with them. I have never seen someone less suited to a job.

Previous tour guides in other cities have been outward going, humorous, engaging, likeable people who delivered just the right amount of information to inform the visitor yet maintain interest.

How sad that this promising tour turned out to be such a disappointment!

Hello Rick, Thanks for your message. It's unfortunate that you didn't like the tour. You didn't have to leave two reviews on two different platforms, though. One would've been enough. We're sorry that you found the guide was giving "excessive detail". However, believe us when we say that we deliver just the right amount of detail. You might have some experience with quite a few free tours in the past. We have as well, and probably with quite a little bit more tours. It was very rude and childish of you to "quietly slip away" from the tour. The guide Ricard (not Ricardo) and the whole group were waiting for you in the next stop. Out of respect to the guide and the group, you should've told him that you were leaving. And, of course, bragging about it is, quite frankly, unfortunate at least. It is a shame as well that you could "take no more" only after two stops. Maybe, if you had given a chance to the guide, you would've ended up enjoying the tour, like other people who left reviews that you can find here (and on the very same tour as you). Also, bear in mind, for the next time you book a Free Tour elsewhere, as it seems you do often, that your sole booking costs us money that we pay to all the websites that send you there. Quietly slipping away is not only disrespectful but also makes us, literally, lose money. Thank you, Quimi, owner of Girona Explorers

To set the scene...my travelling companion had her purse stolen at barcelona sants the day before our tour and so we had to find a western union...the boys were so helpful they stayed with my friend to get the money transfer. Then they booked our return trip to barcelona for the following day!

The tour was excllent and the guides were informative with lots of interesting facts about the towns visited.

The tour was a good balance of being with the guides and spending time on our own.

Overall it was a fun day with lots of laughs and really interesting information.

I would highly recommend this small company to anyone looking for a small group tour

Quim gave us a great walking tour of Girona which was very informative. Although we had already been in Girona exploring ourselves for a day and a half, he was able to show us some of the little details of the town that we had not noticed and tell us the interesting stories behind them. Thanks Quim for a great afternoon. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Our tour guide was doing a guided tour for Spanish speaking people, but let us come along. He translated to English while we were walking from site to site. He was very enthusiastic and nice. From the month of May they do tours in English. We would recommend doing a tour, because it's so much history you get to know about.

Back in September I did a Dalinian Triangle Tour with Girona Explores!! It was a great tour, beautiful places to see, comfortable car. Quim and Dani were very good, patient, very good English. They are well prepared with breakfast, tea and coffee. They also booked the entry tickets on all 3 sites we visited so we didn't have to queue up at all. At the end they helped with the train tickets too as we travelled from Calella to Girona and they stayed with us till we got the train which was very helpful and reassuring. I have attached some pictures of the tour we did just so you get an insight of what we visited. Thank you Girona Explorers and all the very best!!!

Lovely tour with a really nice guide. They show you beautiful Girona while explaining the city's most important historic events as well as curiosities. You also get to know more about the famous locations where several movies and shows have taken place (for instance GOT) and it is an excellent way to visit the musts of this magnificent city.
