I stumbled upon this while exploring the upper streets of Girona’s old town. I entered the area through a set of massive iron gates and stone wall. This large open area is what remains of what was once a grand palace of sorts. Exterior walls made of stone and several terraced areas still exist. A watchtower remains and there are several areas which offer nice views of the surrounding streets and narrow lanes. A young man was playing his guitar and singing popular international songs when I was there - he was actually quite good.

The Jardins dels Alemanys is a beautiful park and greenspace housing Roman ruins that were used as barracks by German soldiers during the 19th century Peninsular War, the wall. Make sure to walk up to the top of the ruins for views of the cathedral and city of Girona.

When you make the tour around the walls of the city, you can go down to the Jardins dels Alemanys to find the way to the Cathedral or simply to go back to the city. Anyway it worths to enjoy some moments in this beautiful place.

this is an amazing walk, our guide was quick and gave us the best section to walk for 45 minutes, view of the city and wall and castle was simply amazing, a must place to visit while in Giroan and costabrava.

The garden is not particularly beautiful but it is tranquil with places to sit and relax. Take the stairs up to the top of the wall and walk along the wall for view of the town.

The gardens are OK, especially if you want to take a rest after sightseeing for hours. If you enjoy a mix of nature and history, this might interest you, but I wouldn't consider the place a must-see.

lovely secluded spot in the old town with the gardens and ruins. Worth a stroll around just off the main city walls.

I love this tumble down old place, make sure you look at the ancient wooden door at the entrance, behind the grill. You can access the walls of the city from here

The beautiful gardens surround the ruins of the old German quarter and you can see the remains of old buildings and a church in the area. The gardens are also close to the old city walls which can be accessed through a tower. You can walk along the walls to get great views over the city.

We happened upon this lovely garden area early in the morning, what a picture spot. Be sure to ascend the stairs and you can access the walls. It's a beautiful spot!
