I want to thank Paula for the amazing Modernism & Gaudí Tour around Barcelona on a freezing friday afternoon. It was an amazing experience that I’ll certainly not forget. Paula was extremely knowledgeable about the architecture and culture of the city and her passion for the subject really shone throughout the tour. Paula's insights and explanations about the symbolism and design of the Sagrada Familia were fascinating and really helped me appreciate the beauty and complexity of the building. Her explanations of the different construction phases and future plans for the building were also very interesting. Paula's in-depth knowledge of the art history behind each building was impressive and really added value to the tour.
Throughout the afternoon, Paula was very attentive to our needs and made sure we were comfortable and informed about the itinerary. She was also funny, interactive and happy to answer any questions we had. She provided a lot of interesting background information about the city such as local tips and recommendations that I would not have known otherwise.
Overall, I would highly recommend this tour with Paula to anyone!

The tour took about 2,5 hours and we walked through two neighborhoods. The trip was a good mix - we saw some Picasso and other art pieces, learned about Civil War and the history of the city, went to see a few historical places, and found out more about architecture. Our guide Teo had a wide knowledge about the city and gave us some useful tips on how to avoid spending too much money or where to eat to get the best experience.

My group of students ages 14-17 was literary just a couple of hours off an overnight plane from New York. The check-in was at 3pm so I decided to book a tour at 11. Teo's tour was so interesting, fun, informative and entertaining, that my teenagers were all alert, listening, engaged, asking questions as if they have rested and had a good night sleep. I also very much enjoyed Teo's tour. He really raised a plank for the following guides we had later in our journey in Catalonia. The kids were comparing other guides, but in their opinion, no one came close to the level of Teo's professionalism. Thank you, Teo!

I’ve taken a lot of walking tours and this was the worst. The website lists all the places the Gothic Quarter Tour is supposed to visit. On our tour we only visited half of them. For example, we did not visit the Jewish Quarter. The tour guide, Christina, gave us too much uninteresting or irrelevant information and too little information about the Gothic Quarter and old city. She was charming and spoke English very well, but was overly cute to the point of annoying. Not a good experience.

Theo (Eteoklis) Nikolau is a considerate and engaging guide who tailored the tour though the Gothic Quarters according to the interest of the group. Unlike some less experienced guides who have a set, prescribed itinerary, I was impressed that Theo was very observant about how our group responded to various locations and planned the rest of the tour to focus on those aspects that interested us most.

We were lucky to have a small group on a cloudy day, so Theo would converse with us individually to gauge how long we were in Barcelona, if it was are first time, or not, etc. and then took us to many places based on our interest and experience. There were many places that I would have never found by myself or have the time to read up on. Theo was a wealth of information about the history of landmarks, as well as current views of the area's significance.

Since he is also a journalist, he had a broad knowledge and was very well informed. Theo would also always welcome questions and took time to further explain if we did not fully understand. He was very dedicated to ensuring that we always had a satisfying experience in each location we visited.

We ended the tour in a poignant but inspiring spot that held much significance for many reasons, and a visitor would not know about this special place if they did not have such a knowledgeable and generous guide such as Theo. Highly recommended!

We did the tour of the Old Town/Gothic area and really enjoyed learning about the history and seeing the sights. Our guide Gus was very knowledgeable and personable - he added a lot of humor and made the tour really enjoyable and interesting. No one should visit Barcelona without spending some time in this area, and I highly recommend Donkey Tours (and Gus).

We did the Gothic Old Town tour with tour guide Gus.
He is from Argentina originally but was so knowledgable and engaging, we thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt so much.
The tour lasted just short of two and half hours but went
so quickly. You get to see the hidden Barcelona away from the
huge crowds and learn the history and struggles of the city.
Would highly recommend.

We did a tour with Oliver around Gothic quarter and el Born. I'm definitely recommending this tour! It's fun for people from all ages. You get to know some places and information (historical and fun) that otherwise you will probably won't learn.
Oliver as a guide is very nice, communicative and now how to share his knowledge in a fun and engaging way that allows you to remember the most of it.
Worth visiting by anyone who wants to enrich his knowledge and/or visit some cool places that the locals know.

We are talking about a walk of approximately 2,5 h, around some of the most well knows attractions in Barcelona.
The tour is based on a holistic view of modernism, pointing to the buildings and elements designed by the genius Gaudi.
We have been visited almost all of them by the time we went on this tour but did not regret it at all to do this twice.
The audio guides/brochures do not provide that much information. Extra insights are more than welcomed to better understands some things that you cannot believe even after seeing them with your eyes, you will see.
The tour was also fun because our guide – Eric – is a very entertaining and charming person.
We laughed like crazy and we were amazed by the stories behind the creation of certain elements that we’ve seen.
What I want to say is that this tour will do it for you, even if you are not into history or a “spending a day in a museum” type of person, because it is not boring at all.
For me, the most impressive was to see Sagrada Familia in the morning in an official context and then, to kind of end my day seeing it again during sunset.
Trust me when I tell you that the light is very important in the way you perceive this gigantesque, incredible and hard to understand the piece of art.
PS 1: besides what's on this tour, I recommend that you also visit Parc Guell, Gaudi House Museum and Palau Guell.
PS 2: single girls or single gay boys, watch out, ‘cause you might fall for the guy😊)

We did the Old Town tour with Teo yesterday and the 2 hour tour was very enjoyable and our host very knowledgeable and engaging. We can’t fault the tour itself as we really enjoyed it and like how you can pay whatever you think/ can afford! However during the tour we were given a voucher for a free glass of cava which we decided to have immediately after the tour, after drinking our wine we prepared to leave and were told we would have to pay for the wine because we didn’t order food (which we were never told) so would be good if this was either made clear by donkey tours or when you order the wine. Aside from this we would definitely recommend this tour!
