The area
Address
Neighborhood: Poblenou
The futuristic Agbar Tower stands out from Barcelona's skyline in Poblenou. It is no coincidence then that this area of town is the newly crowned technological park of the city, its own mini Silicon Valley containing a tech incubator (Barcelona Activa) as well as a host of local and international high tech companies. To accommodate the onrush of new residents and workers, the area of Poblenou has seen a surge of activity in new high-rise residential buildings and two top-notch shopping centers catering to everyone's need. The ambiance of this area is calmer than the city center and the beautifully relaxing Bogatell Beach, popular with locals, is just a handful of blocks away.
How to get there
  • Poblenou • 5 min walk
  • Selva de Mar • 7 min walk

My family was looking for something to do other than touring and eating and the Mystery Escape Barcelona was just the thing. It’s a fun, fantastic activity for anyone. If you’ve never done an escape room in the past I suggest trying it out. Guaranteed fun! If you have already the Mystery Escape Barcelona rooms won’t disappoint.

Visited with my husband and a 5 and a 10 year old. Called in the morning and made a same day reservation. They speak good english and helped us when needed so we could progress in the game. Ofcourse the 5 year old didn't particapate a lot but the rest loved it.

I'm writing this review after having proposed to my fiancee a few days ago at Mystery Escape, which was a massive success! I reached out to them only a week in advance asking if they could help me coordinate the surprise, and they were extremely attentive and adaptive to my requests, which I'm very thankful for. They even gifted us a cold bottle of cava, which was waiting for us once we exited the escape room. Proposal aside, the escape room itself was great fun and very well thought-out. Highly recommended!

Our group was 5 people. The installations were clean and the staff is super nice. Lorena attended us. She was super attentive and cleared our questions as some of us had never been to an escape room before.

The experience was very fun and intriguing. It surprised us in ways we didn't expect and everyone was having fun tryinf to solve the pieces of the puzzle. I highly recommend Mystery Escape. For friends or team building exercises.

We went as a group of 4 and we enjoyed the many challenges provoked by this Escape Room. What I liked the most was whenever we solve a puzzle it will lead to another and when you link the puzzles together in your mind it will have the perfect order sequence. At the same time it did not lack multi-tasking challenges in which group members could divide between them. My group did not handle multi-tasking well at first but after a while it kinda grow on us. Finally, there were cases in which we got completely stuck but luckily we have the chance of hints. We managed to finish the Escape in the last seconds. Time frame: 1 hour inside the room.

Excellent team building activity. We are an international company and we had all the activity in English and everything worked really well. We were split in two groups so we had our little competition as well.
Good quality refreshements too!
Thank you Romain for this Great experience!

I have a new addiction and it is escape rooms. I have completed 9 in total - 6 in my hometown and 3 in different cities. When I had the opportunity to visit Barcelona, this was at the top of my activity list and Mystery Escape is now at the top of my 'favorite escape rooms' list!

What makes this one stand out?

1. A dedicated staff person monitors each room so they can offer hints when they see you need them.
2. Mystery Escape has 4 identical rooms so teams can compete against each other at the same time.

Mystery Escape was minutes from my hotel and office so it was easy to find a team. We started with 3 and doubled to 6 in the last hour before our scheduled time. With more notice, we could have divided into two teams and completed against each other, but there was only one staff member available for monitoring.

When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and shown where to store our belongings. The introduction was in English, as requested, because our team was made up of people from 4 different countries. Five of our players had never done an escape room so this introduction was very important! We watched a short video to explain the escape room concept and some of the basic rules, then we entered our room. Another short video to introduce the theme and then we were on our way.

In the room, a monitor showed us how much time we had left and also provided hints as we needed them. The clues were just the right amount of complexity as they were a challenge, but not so difficult that you needed a hint to get through them. That is all I can say about the room without revealing too many details :)

I love the way the hints were provided as they didn't give answers, but simply focused you in the correct area or way of thinking. Hints were often phrased as questions or observations. Most escape rooms allow the participants to ask for up to three hints, but because this room has a dedicated person watching, they know when you need a hint so there is no need to ask.

With this experience, I learned the history of escape rooms - they started as a video game (and this led to my downloading several escape room apps to feed my addiction).

If I get to Barcelona again, I hope the room theme has changed because I will be back!
