- autravelbugMelbourne, Australia307 contributionsFelt cheated with early shut down of serviceThe funicular to Tibidabo is well maintained and gets you to the amusement park and church with the viewpoint. However they sell you return tickets but don’t tell you that their service shuts off at 4:30 pm. We arrived 5 mins past 4:30 pm as we didn’t know and felt annoyed that this information wasn’t passed when buying the tickets. I thought it was pretty hefty €12 for one way.Visited October 2023Traveled soloWritten October 24, 2023
- Steve_of_N21London, United Kingdom3,319 contributionsWell worth the trip and the Funicular price is a pleasant surprise for seniors. We found the Funicular station trick to find, especially as we had come by the open top tourist bus. It’s a fifteen minute walk up hill from where the open top tourist bus drops you off at Avenue Tibidabo and the commentary on the bus will tell you to catch the tram to the funicular railway station. However, be warned the tram only runs during school holidays, outside of those times it is good old leg work up hill. The Funicular cost is 12 euros for a return ticket, unless you are over 60, as you then qualify for the senior fare of 3.5 euros. The train runs every 15 minutes and doesn’t take long to get up to the top where the funfair is, and the views from here are truly fantastic.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 3, 2024

One way to climb the Tibidabo, it is curious to see, although the price is disproportionate, 12 euros round trip.
There is a shuttle bus from the BSM Vall d'Hebron car park. If you park there say so when you pick up the ticket at the ticket office in the same car park, you pay 4.20 euros for the whole day instead of the normal hourly rate.

I found the funicular very expensive. Other funiculars I’ve been on are far cheaper. Difficult to get to from thr metro station too. There was meant to be something between the metro and the funicular - some sort of train - but it wasn’t in operation that day. Apparently it’s only in operation during school holidays? I ended up taking a taxi from Av. Tibidabo up the mountain, the funicular back down, then a taxi from there as I was stuck. It would have been cheaper to get a taxi all the way from the top of the mountain to Av. Tibidabo. Lack of information about transportation makes a visit to Tibidabo very expensive.

We taken the bus and tram up to the summit of the mountain, we didnt fancy the walk in the summer sun but many other did. The cost of this was €24 and in my opinion, it was worth it. The views at the top were amazing. We walked around the fun fair but didnt buy ride tickets

Fun and scenic ride going to the top of mt. Tibidabo. From AV. Tibidabo metro, ride a bus going to the funicular station. If you have themepark tickets, the funicular ride is included already with that. I think the last trip going down is 815pm

Great views from the car. Plenty of parking places. The track in the park, however, was closed, so we took another bus. I would not have taken the ride for 12 euros, lucky the ride was included in the amusement park ticket.

Best way to get to Tibidabo (time and view). Great restaurants with view at the bottom.
However expect some issues with machines selling the tickets at the bottom and the electronic gates on the way down.

Great! Very quick, very clean and no queuing. We enjoyed visiting the top of Tibidabo. Worth mentioning the station is around a 20 minute walk up hill. You can get busses up to the station but we chose to walk.

Really large funicular to take you up to the top of Tibidabo.. Modern and cool. Pity a number of the screens inside were broken .. Otherwise a great way to get up the top with great views on the way..

Hi, There are mixed statements that this Funicular to the top is closed. I'm planning to take bus 196 to Pl Doctor Andreu then transfer to the funicular to the top of Tibidabo. Please let me know what's the update. I can't find anything substantial! Thanks!

You can buy tickets in advance online for the Amusement Park at the top of the funicular, but I cannot find any information about buying tickets for the funicular in advance. The queues for the funicular can gt very long, so best to get there early if you wish to have a decent amount of time at the top
