Held around the same time every year in October (this year October 20 - 22) this festival offer many excellent tapas, wine, beer, cheese, music etc. Avoid the crowd and go on Friday. This was a giant party atmosphere and had something for everyone.

This is a stunning event and market. Excellent local food and wine tastings. Stalls from local Catalan markets and from as far afield as France. Excellent cheap tapas available from many stalls, from €1. Go hungry and thirsty!
If you are looking for tradicional food and drink in Barcelona, you must come here to the anual Mercat de mercats.
I was here with my friends and really enjoyed the local specialities in food. Don't forget to taste the local vines also.

Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local
musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
