Address
Neighborhood: Barrio Gòtico (Barri Gòtic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.

It is something that came out from Zafon's novels. Certainly! Who built this store is a person that loves books. I had to buy a beautiful leather case and a notebook.

A fantastic leather and paper stationary store
May 2016 • Couples
I have a terrible obsession with stationary- and no, not the Morning Glory stuff that we used in elementary school. I can't turn away from fine papers, inks, and writing tools. If you have the same problem, then stay away for your wallet's sake!

Check the hours when you go, because they keep the door locked. As long as you're within the open hours, hit the buzzer and they will let you in. Normally, a shop with a buzzer is a red flag for me (pretentious, pushy, pricey, etc.). It's unfortunate, but just my experience in big cities/tourist areas like this. But I'm so glad we went in anyway, because they are not the least bit pretentious.

This place is a hidden gem of fine papers- from loose to bound, and some cards in between. They have two floor to ceiling, wall to wall shelves of paper. Whether you are looking for a nice card to send home, some wrapping paper for that gift, or a fancy Spanish leather covered journal to write about your travels in, this is your spot.

They have a great selection of gifts for that special someone who loves paper and pen. They have some great vintage prints, ink bottles, loose writing paper, etc. There is a display stand of writing tools as well- nothing too fancy but lots of fun. They have feather quills, reed pens, and dip pens. They carry a small selection of nice dip inks behind the counter. They have some pretty cool finds as well- the owner travels and picks up merchandise. They carry some prints and cards from local artists, as well as a limited selection of Midori journals and refills.

I picked up a few items as gifts and for myself, including a gorgeous gray leather bound journal, some writing tools, and a beautiful antiqued gold dip pen with matching stand (made in France). I had to really control myself to not pick up some of their gorgeous glass ink bottles.

The salesperson was very kind and patient, and let me look at several items behind the counter without pushing. I also appreciated that he did not try to push dip ink when I was looking for fountain ink (he wasn't just trying to 'make a sale'). He was friendly and didn't rush us at all, which is nice.

Their price is reasonable, in my opinion, for the quality of the goods they sell. They bind their own journals. It is not a mass chain where everything is manufactured millions at a time. They offer a unique and more personal shopping experience. Of course if you opt to buy some leather goods, it will run you a bit more- but I feel like the journal I purchased was a great price.

This is a must the next time I'm in town.

A excellent little shop
Nov 2016 • Friends
I stopped here to buy my sister a birthday present and found the stock of leather bound notebooks and pens to be a perfect fit. I was served by a young man who was very helpful and charming. A great spot to visit.

Tiny but Worth Visiting
Jan 2016 • Solo
A small traditional stationery shop with hand made blank books, steel tipped dip pens and more modern trinkets. Excellent leather cases for glasses or pens. Prices to match.
