This is one of the best venues for a concert I have ever attended! If I lived in Barcelona, I would come here all the time!
The area outside the actual theatre area is a lovely terrace with stalls of foods and drinks of a nice variety and reasonable prices that you can enjoy while looking over a gorgeous view.
The Theatre itself is very comfortable and the natural rock backdrop is beautifully lit in a variety of colors throughout the show.
Simply perfection!

One of the greatest places to see a dance performance, a concert. If you travel to barcelona in the summer you have to visit the Grec!

We found this hidden gem in the Montjuic hill and nearly walked passed it.
The Theatre was built in 1929 by architect Ramon Reventos and intentionally resembles an ancient Greek Amphitheatre.
The gardens surrounding it are beautifully well kept and a number of locals were basking in the mid-day sun either reading or relaxing.
It would have been great to watch a play or festival here and my friend, being an actor, was in his element here.
Only accessible by foot (a small number) it's worth taking the time out to see.

The Teatre Grec is a wonderful open air theatre on the Montjuic Hill. Just off to the left of the MNAC (backing Placa Espanya), it is a wonderful old amphitheatre which today is used for concerts, events and is a beautiful place to visit. I was there recently and was so fortunate to see a 3 piece band rehearsing their scores. It was sublime! There is an exquisite garden on the site and the location offers a remarkable view over the city. As part of your visit to Montjuic, this is a must see in Barcelona. Highly recommended!

I was surprised to see this greek inspired park inside another park. The architecture reminded me a bit of Athens as well!

Teatre Grec is a Greek theater located in Barcelona. This theater was built in 1929 to Universal exposition in Barcelona and it seems really a greek theater. It is built in a old quarry in Montjuic Mountain. It is very beautiful and nice. Here in Greek Festival in July, there are some performances. We came here to see "Calígula", which was normal, not too much interesting. A very good place to come and visit without performances.

Now, it wouldn't be fair to judge this venue on having seen one performance there. I'm sure they host some great work too. Unfortunately, our visit was slightly blighted by a slightly self indulgent piece of dance theatre which failed to capture the imaginations of many of the locals who took the first opportunity for a mass exodus nor my partner and I. As someone who's very in to theatre and used to European experimental forms, the piece we saw was almost dismissive of its audience and completely unengaging. The venue, however, is a beauty, and the food and drinks available during the Festival Grec turn a theatre visit into a great night out. Maybe choose your show more wisely than we did though.

Gorgeous little find and would recommend a visit to enhance the Barcelona experience. We stumbled across this place as we like to just meander, but worth adding to an itinerary!

unique and different, the gardens are amazing and very well done. Even though it's March, it's still beautiful. The place is clean and well kept. There's people around all the time. Nice views
