It is a nice place for walking/running or biking, but it is always too crowded. During the weekend there is too many people, and sometimes it is impossible to park the car (as there is few space for parking). If you would like to go there, I recommend to take the train to Peu del Funicular station and afterwards the funicular until the "carretera de les aigües" stop. The views of Barcelona are really nice!!

If you want to see the beauty and size of the city from above, this hike must not be missed! We were blown away by the stunning views of the city for most of the length of the trail. We walked approximately 3/4 of it as we had to head back since the kids got tired of walking. It was a very hot day (30 C or 86F), but we had lots of water with us and sunscreen. There are water fountains along the trail and wonderful spots to take pictures.
Parking was a breeze, there were only one other car when we arrived at the trail head around one pm (on a Wednesday). There's also a cable car running up the hill (which we did not ride).
We saw many runners and bikers who were not bothered by the heat. The trail itself is very accessible and could be walked in flip-flops. No rocks or other obstacles.
Highly recommended!!!

You can walk for many km or go by bicle, even you can climb with the bycle up the mountains. In the nature you can see the entire of Barcelona. It takes a bit to get there as you need to go up the street, but you can easily arrive from the metro station Reina Elisenda, then bus 130 to the top.

Probably not the easiest place to reach without a car, the tracks will offer you a way to have a break from the hustle of the city, but with a view.

Not a touristic attraction, you will mix with the locals who are looking for the same as you ...
Grab something to drink, sun cream and a cap if you are hitting the road.
Not that difficult, but well exposed to the sun, so the sun and the heat will become your first enemy there.

If you like Geo-tagging, there are several hidden there.
Few drinkable water point are available here and there.
Plan between one to three hours, depending of your speed, braveness or activity !

Enjoy !

We are going there twice a week to walk the dog and to do sport. I recommend to go during the week because on weekends it is very crowded.
It has beautiful views of Barcelona and the Tibidabo.

We came with a friend who lives in Barcelona, and the trip is worth it if you are staying many days in town. The difficulty level is really low, for beginners. You really don't need yo be an experienced hiker and can come with friends and family. You can see all Barcelona from above.

This 20km path follows the mountains to Barcelona's north, and can be accessed from just about anywhere in the city. Locals use it for walking, hiking, jogging, and mountain biking. Located in a protected park, there are fantastic views of the city around every corner. If I lived in Barcelona, I would be on that trail every day.

If you're a runnity fan, it's a very good place to go. Try not do it sundays or after 17h, because there're a lot of local people.

Having lived in Barcelona for 6 years Carretera de Les Aigues was my go to place in the weekends for a run. It is quite popular amongst locals, especially for fitness aficionados as it's one of the few places with clean fresh air (since it's basically on a mountain top surrounded by forest) and it offers an amazing scenery as you can pretty much see the entire city and the sea.
Given the fact that it's quite lengthy it's suitable for pretty much any level, you can choose the length of your course and also the difficulty, as you can run on the beaten path or through the forest which requires a higher level of training.
It's suitable for walking, jogging, running, cycling, taking your dog for a walk, or just to get a breath of fresh air. Not easy to get to walking, though it's doable. Preferably to drive there.
