We were very fortunate to have Rueben conduct our tour to Girano and Dali’s museum in Figures. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a communication from Rueben 24 hours before commencement of our memorable tour. Once we acknowledged that we were definitely going for the tour, he responded immediately texted us that he would pick us up between 8.45 am and 8.50 am the next day. He was very prompt. There were a total of eight tourists in our van. Rueben is a very a safe and an excellent driver but his knowledge about Dali’s artistic and prodigious works knows no boundaries. On our way to Girona he started with a detailed commentary about Dali the artist and a human being and how his upbringing affected in the manner he painted. This history is very important to understand and appreciate as it’s the underpinnings of his colossal works. Without this information you will see images and fail to understand the concepts and vagaries of the artist. Rueben through his constant explanations and true devotion to the paintings put it all in perspective for us. At the end of the tour we were overflowing with emotions as we truly rediscovered a very important painter who made a special contributions to 19 th and 20 th century art. Rueben patiently answered all our questions and clarified things we were totally ignorant about. At the end of the tour we were invigorated with the fresh knowledge and truly grateful for it. Rueben was very clear and concise in the way he communicated and one of the best tour guides we got to know.
Rueben exhibited patience and was very understanding of our needs. He made sure our personal needs such as use of toilets and timely lunch times were taken care of. He exposed us to other works of Dali that we were not aware of. He didn’t rush as and gave us ample time to evaluate and take delight in getting to appreciate all the exotic and unusual works of Dali. Yes, Dali is very known for his surrealistic works but he is also a very talented artist as you will see it for yourself. We don’t wish to provide too much information as art needs to be appreciated on its own merits but the gems of history of the painter associated with it enhances your personal experience. So when you are in Barcelona we highly recommend that you visit the Dali museum with your guide, Rueben. He is the best.

This day trip was the highlight of our visit to Barcelona. Arnau picked a friend and I up from our air BnB promptly at 8:45 and we were off today Figures to explore the Dali museum. On the drive up Arnau gave us
Details of the city we were about to visit, as well as many interesting facts about the artist, Dali, to help us better understand the museum we were about to go to. He was engaging and entertaining, which we were especially grateful for b/c of our jet lag. After touring the museum and having some free time, we went to a wonderful Spanish restaurant for lunch and our small group bonded. After that we were off to girona for a magnificent walking tour, highlighting the history of the quant medieval city. This was especially exciting for a few people in the group that were game of throne fans. The day trip was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend taking this tour if you have the chance while in Barcelona.

My husband and I are always apprehensive when we sign up for a tour as we never know what we will get for our money. We not only got our money's worth on this tour, but our tour guide far exceeded the amount we did pay. This was a fabulous day with a trip to Girona and then to Figueres.. Our guide ARNAU was simply the best! He was extremely knowledgeable, told us wonderful stories and historical facts, and had a fabulous sense of humor. HIs English was superb and easily to understand. Arnau's ability to convene the information of both the town of Girona and Dali was impressive. I told him that he should become a professor of history and art with a specialty in Dali. He made us as passionate about Dali's work as he is. Kudos many times over for Arnau. He made today so worth it!

It started pretty badly since on reaching Girona at the very first stopover, it started raining heavily. But at the grace of God, after around 10 minutes, rain clouds were gone and it was wonderful sunshine all around. Matteus is the best ever tour guide we found so far in our life. Excellent driver, tremendous local knowledge, damn caring for every details, genuine foody, highly witty. I think it was him who made the difference to make the tour excellent. It was a small family group, just us. I would recommend everyone touring Barca to take this tour and ask fof Matt

This was an amazing tour with an amazing guide Arnau. Arnau was at our hotel to pick us up and informed us we were the only ones on the tour with him today. Throughout the drive to Monserrat he explained the different sites we were passing by. Once we got to Monserrat he explained the backstory of the Montessori and helped us choose what to do there. He recommended to listen to the boys choir and I am glad we did as everyone enjoyed listening to them. Once we left he drove us to center Barcelona and we walked around the Cathedral and he talked about the history and showed us some things we would have never noticed. He was very accommodating with our party and some of them got tired so he took breaks. He always made sure that everyone was ok and comfortable with the walking. Before visiting the Sagrada Família he talked about the history and how it will be finished in 2026. If you ever book a tour ask for Arnau and you will not be disappointed you will learn so much history about the sites you are visiting.

We were collected from our hotel promptly at 08.45 by our guide Vicente and driver Joaquin.

A small, intimate group you get to learn about the history and culture very quickly.

Vicente is professional, knowledgeable and very passionate about this great city.

Our tour began with an overview of Barcelona on the way to the magnificent Montserrat Monastery where you spend the first half of your day.

With breathtaking views this historic structure is sat on a huge terrace of this “serrated mountain.” Vicente accurately described the inception of monastery, it’s monks and how they have progressed throughout the centuries.

Take in the beautiful basilica and do not miss the boys choir. They really do sing like angels.

There’s also a fabulous funicular for those who are not faint of heart!

You are left with some free time to wander freely before making your way back to Barcelona. You can use the cable car to descend meeting your group at the bottom of the mountain.

Your day continues in the Gothic area of the City. We stop for a short lunch of Pintxos in Pla de la Seu with views of Barcelona Cathedral.

After an intimate and detailed walk through the Greco/Roman/Gothic inspired quarter we move to the breathtaking Sagrada Família.

It will truly take your breath away inside and out. After a brief overview you are left to wander at your leisure. You can spend a lifetime exploring this monument to God, Christ and the Apostles. Everything about this cathedral is inspiring.

Our day ends and we are dropped back at our hotel.

A huge thank you to Vicente. You were marvellous. Well worth a return to see all those places we have yet to experience in this fabulously cultured city.

Had booked online a tour for me & my spouse to the countryside near Barcelona. Matteus, our guide, was absolutely prompt in pick up. Prior to our tour, the company had sent via email details if our pickup including all emergency contact nos. Matt arrived in a sleek SUV & there were just 8 of us for the trip. The pickup was extremely smooth.

During the drive to Girona, Matt was very patient in answering queries & giving tips about places to visit. He explained everything in just the right amount of detail, not overwhelming us. We had more than enough time to get around & take beautiful pictures; Matt very kindly obliged to take our pics. He was witty & expressive, all throughout & kept the group very well engaged.

The trip concluded with a visit to the sea-side town of Costa Brava. Arguably, the best part of the tour. Will very strongly recommend Matt & his company as unlike other big tours, this company always takes small groups, this personalising the experience. Had an awesome time!

Arnaun provides a great day today: driving to Figueres and the Dali Museum his enthusiasm for Dali and his wonderful stories about a Dali’s life and art brought it all to life for me. We then went to a family restaurant and enjoyed a delicious lunch, packed up and drove to Girona to tour the ancient Roman inner city ... magical ... Game of a Thrones was filmed here in Season 6–but I’ve never seen GOT and totally loved the tour. An enlightening way to spend the day!

My husband and I took our 3 children (18-23) on a Christmas week trip to Barcelona. This day trip to Gerona, Pals and Costa Brava beach town was the whole family’s favorite trip. Matt picked us up right outside our apartment in a comfortable mini van. There were 3 others guests on this trip and all very nice. Matt is very knowledgeable of the history, architecture and details of the region. He has a comfortable, friendly & easy going personality and is happy to answer questions. He gave us a good picture of life here in this beautiful part of Spain. We stopped in the city of Gerona, walked the quaint streets, saw the spots where GOT was filmed. We had free time to explore on our own. The next stop was in Pals and again Matt was full of interesting information on the history and facts of the town. We were impressed with all his knowledge. The last stop was in the sea side town of Calella de Palafrugell where Matt arranged for a perfect lunch for us right by the Mediterranean Sea. My family and I then explored the awesome beauty of this place, getting to dip our toes into the Mediterranean Sea for the first time.
We all loved the day. And can’t thank Matt enough. My husband lost his watch at the end of the trip in the back of the van and Matt was again so helpful in reaching out to us so we could retrieve it! If you only go on one trip, go on this one. I highly recommend Matt and the small group tour In and Out Tours offers. Thank you for an amazing trip and we hope to be back again!!
