Top ways to experience Rambla del Poblenou
The area
Neighborhood: Poblenou
The futuristic Agbar Tower stands out from Barcelona's skyline in Poblenou. It is no coincidence then that this area of town is the newly crowned technological park of the city, its own mini Silicon Valley containing a tech incubator (Barcelona Activa) as well as a host of local and international high tech companies. To accommodate the onrush of new residents and workers, the area of Poblenou has seen a surge of activity in new high-rise residential buildings and two top-notch shopping centers catering to everyone's need. The ambiance of this area is calmer than the city center and the beautifully relaxing Bogatell Beach, popular with locals, is just a handful of blocks away.
How to get there
  • Llacuna • 8 min walk

Loads of places to eat and drink
Feb 2020
Our hotel was 5 minutes walk away from this Rambla so we ate here twice as it was so convenient. The area is used by locals and tourists and offers all different kinds of foods. The area felt safe and the local bar owners were welcoming to tourists even if there was a bit of a language barrier (all part of the fun!)

Very nice place to visit and kill some time. Nice restaurants and shops. Not at all like the Ramblas closer to the port. Visited by locals and tourists alike.

Tourist/Busy
Nov 2019
I could have done without time on Rambla. Very busy and full of tourist shops and tourist. The market is wonderful but of course there are others in town. I enjoyed better food and shopping in other areas of the city.

My partner and I booked a long weekend in Barcelona and wanted to stay somewhere away from the normal tourist locations.
Poblenou is perfect, great atmosphere, close to the beach and great bars and restaurants.
Next time we are in Barcelona this is where we will be staying.

More tranquil and cleaner than Les Ramblas
Jul 2019
I prefer this over the extremely busy Les Ramblas. It starts from Diagonal Avenue near the Glories shopping mall and ends at the relatively quiet Bogatell Beach. Most people eating on the outdoor patios are locals and you can find some good restaurants on the Rambla or on the side streets.

More authentic than La Rambla
Jul 2019 • Solo
The Rambla del Poblenou is the main thoroughfare through the El Poblenou district of Barcelona. The Rambla de Poblenou is a leafy street that runs from Avinguda Diagonal and all the way to the beach. As El Poblenou lies between the great beaches of to the east of Barcelona and city centre, it’s a mix of chilling at the beach, but still close enough to the that there’s a plenty of shopping, bars and restaurants while not quite as busy as say the Rambla in the city centre.

There's fewer tourist here than it's more famous sister and feels more authentic.

More relaxed than the other La Rambla
Jun 2019 • Friends
The Rambla del Poblenou offers many restaurants and cafes to enjoy a relaxing drink or meal at, but it can also get quite busy and for some reason the sewers always smell particularly bad in this area unfortunately.
