My friend and I did a one day climbing trip to Montserrat with Toti. It was a great experience for both of us. Toti is very knowledgeable, professional, and safe. He brought us up a mulitpitch route and then put up several single pitch routes, and helped us with specific climbing and technical instruction. Toti was also very friendly, and very good at communicating while setting up the trip. It was an amazing experience, and I would recommend it to anybody interested in climbing while they are in Barcelona--beginner, intermediate, or experienced. Thanks so much Toti!

Toti picked us up at our airbnb and drove us to Montserrat for the best outdoor rock climbing I have experienced hands down. We stopped first at a cafe and got additional baguettes and snacks. Toti bouldered and set up top ropes in bolts and found some challenging yet enjoyable routes for us. He knew that we wanted to learn about sport climbing and helped us set up top roping and sport climbing ropes so that my husband and I could practice. The views from the tops were incredible. Toti was patient, kind and lots of fun to hang out with for the day. His friend and champion Paxti joined us and it added to our great group dynamic. We ended with a beer at a bar and I couldnt have had a more incredible end to our day.

David was our instructor and made our first crag climb safe and enjoyable. He took his time and made sure everything was safe before we started. Monseratt was incredibly beautiful. We started out in the morning when David picked us up from the hotel. Once we arrived in Monseratt we hiked up to the top and dated off on some easy routes to get warmed up. We then moved on to some harder routes and finished the day with a beautiful sunset hike down. David was really fun to hang out with and we all feel like we made a good friend. 10/10 would recommend again. Thanks Toti and David!

Toti was our guide for three days of excellent limestone climbing (5c to 6b+) in the area around Ripoll-Montgrony-Coll de Merolla-Berga, in the pre-Pyrenees. There were three of us the first two days, then two of us for the last day. We stayed at Toti's "refugio" at Coll de Merolla, a mountain pass at 1,000 meters. Great meals by Janina, Toto's wife, and great entertainment by Jos, his two-year-old son. Bring warm clothes and a sleeping bag if you go in winter as the place is not heated well. Spring through Fall should be perfect. Toti was super--we climbed at four different areas with very different rock (all spectacular!), and toured the Sanctuari de Montgrony and the insane hard tufa climbs there (too hard for us!). We did a lot of single pitch the first two days and a multi-pitch on the last day, along with some balance and technique exercises. Toti was always thoroughly professional, safe, and knowledgeable. He has climbed all over the world and is the former coach of the Spanish national team. As I now live in Barcelona, I plan on doing a camp with Toti once a year to advance my meager-but-improving rock skills. Highly recommended!

It was a blast!
We came to Montserrat to learn multipitch climbing, already being quite confident with sport climbing and leading outdoors. We met Xavi in a bakery nearby Montserrat and discussed several options how to structure the day and decided together on route difficulty and spots that we would climb.
Xavi first took us on an easy 3-pitch route, explaining us the basics about dealing with two half ropes, building a stand and belaying from there. He was leading the route and took us on top of one of the teeth of Montserrat where we enjoyed a gorgeous and exclusive view. After repelling from the peak, we switched to a wall dedicated to teach multi pitch climbing. Now Xavi observed us from above, while we were taking turns leading the route, building a stand and belaying each other from above. Xavi gave us advice and corrections when needed while we were applying what we learned on the first route. What was really cool in all of this is that we climbed and belayed with our own equipment (except for the ropes) and got special advice for our belay decives (mega jule).
At the end we did not just have a wonderful climbing day but also felt 100% prepared for our first multipitch climb by ourselves. Thanks for a perfect day!

I spent the day with Toti and had an incredible time. We went up 4-5 climbs and he taught me how to set up my equipment correctly, set a route, and even challenged me to rock climb with one hand behind my back!! Toti is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and made the trip so much more fun. The views are killer. You will definitely enjoy your time rock climbing through this program :)

A great day of climbing in Monserrat with Barcelonaclimb, guided by Xavier. The climbing was wonderful - all level of climbs available with views out over the monastery and Catalonia landscape. We started with an easy three-pitch ascent of one of the pillars and then headed to an area with several single pitch options where I could practice my lead climbing. Xavier was a great guide - not just for the climbing but also for sharing about the history and ecology of the region. Making the reservations was easy and I appreciated their ability to be flexible with the pick-up and drop-off locations.

My husband and I booked a day trip to climb in Montserrat and it was amazing! The climb itself was very chill - 5 multi pitch! We also had time to do a couple of single pitches. Toti was a great guide and I would highly recommend him. He was very friendly and made sure we had a great time. Thank you Toti - Laureen & Francesco

Toti is a knowledgable and friendly guide. Most of us were beginners, but thanks to him, we could really enjoyed climbing in Monserrat under the perfect weather. Because he knows the place, he brought us to a bakery in a village, which I found offers the nicest bread during my stay in Spain! Thanks again and we recommend him if you would like to enjoy climbing in the Barcelona area.

Hi--I've tried a bunch of times to reach you by text (WhatsApp) and email about scheduling some climbs for June, but have gotten no response. What's the best way to contact you? I want to schedule two climbs, one in Montserrat and one other.

What is your email and what is your name?
We answer same day on our barcelonaclimb website contact form or at the web published email barcelonaclimb at gmail
Your email might have gone to our spam folder. As far as WhatsApp is concerned, very often we are without mobile coverage as we are rockclimbers in the outdoors, we are not sitting in an office, but email is reliable.

I would like to book a guided trip for the 19th and it's my last opportunity to go climbing since I'm leaving Barcelona on the 20th. I've been trying to call your number but each time it says the line is not connected. How can I get in touch with you to book the trip? I also sent you an email but I did not get a response.
Written January 17, 2017
Dear Priyanka, I have already answered your email. Toti the chief guide is on a climbing mission in a remote area as January is nearly no activity usually. On the other hand you ask for a multi-pitch route, this can only be handled by Toti himself.
We need more notice to organise a multi-pitch route, at least one week in advance

Is there a Phpne # at which I can call and speak with someone before booking the trip ? I know you said 249 Euros, but that would be for multiple climbers doing all day climbs.
I would like to know the cost for the following conditions:
1. I can do only 1/2 day climb (Jan 14th morning 9 AM - 1 PM)
2. Only 1 person (for the climb)
3. My mother will accompany me for the car ride, but will not be climbing
4. We need hotel pick up and drop off (Barceló Raval)

Is there a version of this activity suitable for an 11 year old who enjoys the outdoors but is not a climber?
Written June 30, 2016
Yes, we can either give him/her a rockclimbing course, or do a via ferrata like the Teresina, or simply do I hiking adventure.
It is a perfect way of spending time together parents and childrens, it creates great bonds!
