I contacted Oliver to set up 2 half day workshops for myself and a colleague while I was in Barcelona - the Gothic Quarter and Barcelona at night. Oliver was professional, on time, easy to deal with, very communicative and helpful. Both tours were longer than promised and offered fine views of various places in the city, with expert photo instruction. Oliver taught my colleague and I several important photo tips and was very helpful at all times during the workshops. He packed in great sights, and was always willing to listen to what we were interested in seeing and doing, what we needed help with, and he put us in front of a lot of gorgeous things to photograph.
I have taken many photo workshops from professionals in the United States, and Oliver's workshop was near the top of any that I have taken.
When you are walking in Barcelona, make sure that you have comfortable shoes - you are on your feet quite a bit seeing all that there is to see.
I would definitely take another workshop from Oliver. Highly recommended,

We booked the night photography tour with Oliver Blum. We highly recommend it, it's great. You can discover locations you never find on your own. For my son and me it was also very inspiring to learn the photo-setup by a professional photographer. We are sure, that our photos will look a lot better in the future! Here you can combine your hobby with your visit to Barcelona!
If we ever go to Rome, we know where to book our Photo Tour :-))

After booking a Rome tour with Oliver I booked a Barcelona tour that he customized for
our request to shoot the Costa Brava area and a well preserved medieval town. He did it
all, rented a car, brought snacks , pick-up/drop-off at the hotel. He was not only a guide, he was the driver, instructor, and historian all in one. What a great experience as he pushed me to see the shot before taking the picture. An extra bonus was learning more about my camera, Oliver was very patient and guided me to be more specific with my
composition, margins and capturing sight lines.
After the all day tour we had a golden hour/night tour with oliver the next day. Again
another great experience and we got some killer night pics.
You can't go wrong with Oliver, a pro photographer who knows the city , what to shoot
and when to shoot it.

I booked a night tour with Oliver and met him at the entrance to my hotel. He took me around town and directly to the great spots to take nice pictures of the big locations. Beside getting great pictures out of the tour, he also taught me some additional skills of how to set up the shots and how to get the best quality out of my pictures. We also walked around longer than the booked time without any extra charge.
Beside the great tour, Oliver is also a great guy to hang out with and to talk about photography and other things in life! It was very enjoyable.
Bring good shoes, you're on the move quite a bit!
When coming back to Barcelona, I'll definitely book another tour to see even more of the great city and learn from Olivers pro experience.

I participated in the full day Costa Brava/Girona photo tour with Oliver. He picked me up exactly where and when he said he would. He made sure we made great use of the time we had. I signed up for this tour because I wanted to see areas outside of Barcelona, learn from his expertise and experience, and get some great photographs. Oliver delivered on all of those. He was genuinely concerned with making the best use of our time and putting me in the best possible spots for great photos. I absolutely recommend this, or any other tour from Oliver, independent of photography skill level.

This review is for my visit to Barcelona in August 2016.
I had previously arranged a photography tour with Oliver while in Rome and decided to schedule the Barcelona Highlights tour as a private shore excursion. Our meeting place was just outside of the cruise terminal near the Mirador de Colom.
Oliver provided the same excellent experience as before and this time he brought along a tripod. We spent most of our time exploring the Gothic quarter and the Old Town. Throughout the day, he continued to give me tips on using a tripod, HDR and exposure bracketing, and creating images with a ND filter. Using a tripod was a great learning experience for me and having it was an asset for capturing a greater variety of images.
I really appreciate that he extended the tour one hour since I was unable to complete the 5-hour tour in Rome because of time constraints. This allowed us to see more places some of which are hidden from the usual tourist routes.
In all, Oliver will make sure you are satisfied with your photographs.
There is so much more to see and photograph in Barcelona and I look forward to another visit and more tours with Barcelona Photo Tours & Workshops.

Great night spent photographing the Cathedral of Barcelona, Gothic Quarter, The Agbar and Sagrada Familia. Learnt so much from Oliver over the 4.5
hours, especially with the use of HDR and a tilt-shift lense. He even
brought his own T-S lense, wide angle lense and sturdy tripod for me
to use (I was travelling with a light frame tripod). Oliver is an
enthusiastic photographer with a keen eye and readily shared his
knowledge with me. Not only did I visit some spectacular parts of
Barcelona, but I learnt a lot about using my camera (Canon 7D),
composition, light metering and HDR photos. After the workshop he sent
me a link to a great tutorial on blending photos and put me onto some
great software plug-ins form Lightroom. Oliver met me at my hotel and we got straight into it. Most of the night we were on foot, but there were a couple of metro rides to the more distant locations. Highly recommended.
