- Sarah P18 contributionsNice viewsNice view. Would reccomend getting the v19 bus to Ctra del Carmel-Mühlberg stop to make the walk easier. There's also a water fountain near the stop and would definitely make use of that. It can get quite busy depending on the weather so you might have to wait your turn for certain picture spots. It's perfectly fine up there, but don't hang around for too long once the sun has set, once you've got your pictures and seen the views, make your way down instead of waiting until it's completely dark.Visited November 2021Traveled with friendsWritten December 30, 2021
- Chiara3 contributionsMust-seeI was on a trip to Barcelona and discovered this amazing place. The view is incredible. I unfortunately missed the sunset, but it was still very beautiful. Must-see for the sightseeing fans, it was one of the best I got to see in BCN. I would recommend taking the 22 bus from Plaza Catalunya, it stops near the top, you just have to walk a little.Visited February 2020Traveled soloWritten February 10, 2020
- _elainehindsonKent, United Kingdom277 contributionsPanoramic views of BarcelonaOur son recommended this place to us. It wasn’t in our guidebook, but it’s very popular with the younger generation especially, who like to go up to the Bunkers to watch the sunset. We are in our sixties, so felt like the oldest ones there, but if you take the metro L3 to Vallcarca, and the No.22 bus to Gran Turo de la Rovira (penultimate stop), it’s a short 10 minute walk to the top. There’s a set of concrete steps opposite the bus stop, and from there just keep heading uphill. The concrete bunkers were used for gun emplacements in the Civil War. They’re covered in graffiti now, and there are no facilities there, so take drinks with you. The views of the city are superb, and the 22 bus is very frequent, or you could even take a taxi out there, with a five minute walk to the top. We used our Hola Barcelona card on the metro and bus, and the bus stop is very close to Vallcarca Metro station. Worth a trip out for the views. We probably took an hour and a half out of our schedule to fit this in, but were glad we did.Visited March 2023Traveled with familyWritten March 24, 2023
- CohauzBarcelona, Spain7 contributionsI used to love it..I have visited the bunkers many times, including 2 weeks ago. Before it was just a quiet place, now it’s a hotspot for young tourists to drink, be loud (inc music) and make a mess. It’s such a shame. Last week I was there with a friend of mine. We were just sitting and enjoying the sunset in a quiet place around the bunkers with not that many people around us. Then a group of british tourists came sitting next to us, like literally next to us.. hard music, loud talking, lots of alcohol. Thus we went away. It ruined the vibe.Visited March 2020Traveled with friendsWritten March 13, 2020
- Zach ReulbachMooresville, North Carolina2 contributionsStunning 360 views of BarcelonaThe bunkers are at the highest point in inner Barcelona, which provides stunning 360 degree views of the city, mountains, and mediterranean. The bunkers are also covered in neat looking graffiti. It is a somewhat long uphill walk to get there, but you can also take a taxi to the entrance. However, I enjoyed the walk up. This place is a must-visit for anyone in Barcelona.Visited June 2023Traveled soloWritten June 25, 2023

The toughest part of the hike is the last 500 metres. The view is certainly worth it. You will also get a view of the other side of the Collserola Ridge showing how populated Barcelona is and also the beautiful green space of the ridge. What was also amazing was how far and high altitude Tibidabo is considering the lengthy walk we had. Probably won't return, unless I feel the need to walk upon the iron bridge close to the bunkersVisited June 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten June 16, 2020

Very busy at the top, would not want to visit during peak season. There are even men selling wine which was clever of them! Very unconfortable to reach (forget about car) and no place to sit and relax: dirty and full of young people drinking and making loud noise. Not the calm that you expect in a nice hill viewpoint. A hidden gem!
I could not recommended this place enough. This was by far our favourite place we visited during our 5 day stay in Barcelona. The views are spectacular overlooking the whole of Barcelona.
We caught a taxi which cost around 15euro from the centre of Barcelona. From the taxi drop off point it is approximately a 5-10 minute walk to reach the top. We read other reviews and packed a picnic to enjoy whilst taking in the views.

Nice place with a nice atmosphere. We went there and people were having drinks or picnics. Definitely take the bus, we went down on foot and I imagine we would have been dead if we had gone up on foot. The bus leaves you very close to it but you still have to climb some stairs. Great views.

The walk from the park to the bunkers is longer than you may expect. In terms of places to get food, there aren’t many choices. There are 2 small restaurants across from each other a few blocks down on the road that leads up to the park. Good luck!

I walked the whole way from the city centre - 1 hour and 15 minutes. If you enjoy walking, I would recommend that. Then you get to see different parts of the city and can stop for a snack on the way. I brought vegan donuts and coffee to the top. Was a very nice experience!

Is it walkable from Parc Guell? How long does it take to walk there from Parc Guell?
We walked from starting at a couple blocks from Placa de Catalunya to the Bunkers. It took approx 40 minutes from there to give you frame of reference. It won't take long at all from Parc Guell, probably 20 mins max depending on your pace. Just be prepared for the steep uphill climb. Some people looked like they were hating their life walking up all the stairs and the steep incline :) Have fun, it was worth the trek.

Hi, I’m a bit confused if this is open all the time ? As it states on the website Wednesday- Sunday.
Can anybody advise me please?

They did have a guy up there selling drinks etc at sunset and maybe monday/Tuesday they don’t offer that and maybe that’s why it says closed??? But I don’t see how it could ever be closed. It’s an old military base at the top of a hill. They may close one of the driving entrances but you can still walk around and get in there very easily and sit and watch the sunset etc.
