On a trip to Barcelona we noticed cable cars going up over the bay up to Montjuic and decided to take the ride. When we inquired about the price for the Aeri del Port (15 euros round trip) and time schedules, we were never told...More

Nice trip to get good views across the city. Really clear day gave fabulous sights out to the harbour & across the city. Funicular railway was closed so we caught the bus from Paral-lel on a round trip ticket that cost €2.20 each

The cable car is a great way to see the city from above. The ride was actually funner than the destination. Check out our YouTube video of our trip for more sights: GoPro 2K: Running Around Spain and France HD.

This recent (2007) addition to Montjuic, combines with a series of existing modes of transportation (metro L2/L3, estacio funicular) to reach the Castle Montjuic. The bus turistic also stops at the bottom station of this teleferic. Do not confuse this one with the much older...More

Was a very nice ride, great views on a sunny day, not too busy this time of year. But only with children that can walk without a stroller. The gondola car is small and they pack a lot of people in. Nice gardens up top...More

A little bit pricey at €12 70 for a round trip but a great way to get to the top. Single journey is €8 40 . No queuing plenty of cars on track. Be a little careful on getting in and out of the gondolas...More

Hoped on this to go up to the castle. €12.70 for return per person. Expensive but saves your legs and views are spectacular. Plenty of cars so no long queues

First of all, there are TWO cable cars on Montjuic ! Make sure you have tickets for the right one! The modern silver one goes up the mountain and has good city views, the older red one goes out over the port. They are about...More

The cable car up to the top of the mountain is a bit underwhelming. Just take it and you'll see why. The ride itself is pricey but it's only like 8 minutes long. You're there before you know it. So, that being said, don't have...More

Went one way, luckily wasn't busy as would have made a relatively short experience less appealing. Found the information not the most informative or clear and is possibly a little over priced. Again we were lucky as there were only 10 of us in the...More

Hello! Thanks for yout comment but the Telefèric de Montjuïc is a service that can carry 8 people, no more. So we think your comment is about the Telefèric del Port, which is the other cablecar company in the area. Kind regards, Mireia Customer Service

Confused about cable cars in Barcelona (2 Replies)
A few years ago (I think it was 2015) I took the Transbordador Aeri from the port up to Montjuic. The views of the city from this cable car were fantastic. We are going to Barcelona again this summer, this time with two friends who have never been to the city, and we want to take them on the Transbordador Aeri. This is where I am getting a bit confused. Has the name of it changed to Teleferico del Puerto, or is that something completely different? Also, what is the Teleferic de Montjuic?...More

Teleferic de Montjuic goes from the upper station of the funicular (which itself can be reached via metro). There are two stops (not including your starting point). The last is the fort. The other cable car is the Transbordador Aeri del Port. It goes from about half way up the mountain to the port with only one stop. This was how I did it: Metro to funicular Funicular to cable car Cable car to the fort (second stop) Cable car from the fort get off on first stop Walk down to the...More

Teleferic de Montjuic (3 Replies)
One more question, please. On the way up, does the teleferic stop at the Mirador de l'Alcaldet parc? if yes, then, do you have to buy another ticket to continue up to the top, or can you use the same ticket? Also, once I reach the top, how far is it to get to the castle? Is it easy walk or uphill? Thanks again

Thank you Gigis, This sight made everything clear. And the photos made me decide that I need to take the one funicular that goes from the mount to the harbour. You're never too old to have fun :)))

View from Military museum/Teleferic de Montjuic (4 Replies)
I've seen photos of the view from the military museum and it looks spectacular. It sounds quite complicated to get to the top - metro to funicular, funicular to cable car and then cable car to the top. I would be grateful for any opinions on whether the view is worth the effort. Perhaps an easier way to get there is by the hop on hop off bus. Does this stop anywhere near where you pick up either the funicular or the cable car itself? I'm also planning on taking the other cable car...More

Getting to Montjuic castle is actually very easy. The metro, funicular and cable car are all connected or next to each other. And yes, the red line of the Bus Turistic stops where the funicular and teleferico de Montjuic meet. As for the Transbordador Aeri del Port which runs from the port to Montjuic, i'm of the minority that thinks it's not worth the money unless you actually need to get to the port. The view from the teleferico on Montjuic is very similar and it's cheaper and more...More
