Signposting is confusing. The ferry company had sent Covid forms, which we had filled in. Wrong ones. Handed form in Italian. None of us speak Italian. Not much freight nor many cars. It’s a functional port. Departed at dusk, sailing out through the industrial port which was a hive of floodlit activity.

We saw the Port of Barcelona few weeks ago and it was pretty interesting, lots of nice ships and boats of different sizes, one big enough to carry an helicopter.
You can take nice walks near the port and there is also an interesting Mall called Maremagnum and also the Barcelena Aquarium.

We came down to dine in the port area. There are many good restaurants here. Nice fresh air was coming off the water. The port area looks nicest at night when lit up. There are lots of beautiful and expensive yachts in this port with over a 2,000-year history.

Visit Duration: 1 Hour.

A beautiful area in Barcelona named after Carthaginian leader Hamilcar Barca who lived from 275 to 228 BC. Recommended daytime and nighttime.

Expect to see locals running this area and exercising. Small shops selling food are around.

The yacht marinas add charm to this attractive area.

Maremagnum as ashopping mall and nighlife complex, its cinema, Europe's largest aquarium is a great spot there.

A great port to start your cruise. State of the art terminal with great embarkation and disembarkation facilities. Just returned from a cruise ship with 5000 passengers and progress through the terminal was very swift both on the outbound and inbound journeys.

Our cruise ship disembarked here after our 7 night Mediterranean Cruise. The port looks modern and clean. They used the carousel to transfer luggage. It was smooth and quick. That made me feel welcome. We took the port bus, €2 per person to Colombus monument. That is a good service. If your cruise ship only stays in Barcelona for a few hours, you can pay €3 for a round trip.
From Colombus monument you can go to La Rambla, Port Vell, a nice stroll to the floating walkway, that lead you to Maremagnum shopping Mall. Oh! This is Barcelona.
Happy Travelling!

Well organised port. For the larger cruise ships, Transfer bus from the ship quay to Columbus square for 3 euro return. Busses are wheelchair accessible. At Columbus square you will get the hop on off city bus tour. Three routes all can be done in a day.

We arrived at Port of Barcelona on a cruise ship; this was the best arrival of all the ports & the City of Barcelona has made it easy to get into town quickly & easily by providing a bus which drops you at the Columbus square. Walking the waterfront is a good way to relax, enjoy the many boats & wide paths provided. Best port area of any city I visited & a good introduction to the city.
