We booked in advance because we had a limited amount of time in Barcelona. We opted for the market tour before the cooking class and were very happy that we did, as it was really interesting. Our chef and guide, Maria was very entertaining and knowledgeable and made the day very fun. She included everyone in different aspects of the... More

Did the politically correct feminist thing in Barcelona and took hubby to a Spanish cooking class. Edification et al. Met great people from across the globe, really quirky interesting chef host ( Maria )from Cook&Taste( super professional outfit), had wonderful company , visited/shopped at a stunning Spanish food market and sampled ( until completely replete ) divine authentic Spanish food.

We booked a normal class making tomato bread, two starters, paella and crema catalana. It was a great evening cooking, eating and talking with a good group of people. The instructions are good and u get to cook every recipe and prepare all the ingredients urself. The cooked food was by far better than anything we ate in restaurants. The... More

What a fun evening! Don't just go to a restaurant and eat great paella, learn to make it! We found this charming kitchen and cooking school in the old Gothic section of Barcelona. It's a very nice, very clean facility. Our chef/teacher was amazing. He was friendly, knowledgeable and charming. He let every one try food preparation to their cooking... More

I did this cooking class with my 23 year old daughter. We both loved it. I would highly recommend the market visit. We learned a lot about local ingredients and culture and traditions. Once back at the school everyone got involved in making a delicious meal which we shared with a few bottles of wine. A great day in Barcelona.

Had a great day with Rosa. First the market then the cooking class. Our group included three children and Rosa made everyone feel comfortable and included during the whole day. She was beautifully organised, knowledgeable and never forgot anyone's name . We had four lovely courses and some local wine. Would recommend very highly as a great experience.

I love to cook and when I travel I want to learn about local cooking. I found out about this cooking school from a Barcelona friend and booked an evening class. There is a tour option but I skipped this as I found the Boqueria Market way too touristy compared to some others and there are lots of others in... More

Five great friends getting together for a fun day filled with new experiences. Our Chef/Instructor, Rosa was fabulous. She showed us all the best and interesting places and food in the market, then taught us to cook delicious Spanish food. Rosa was very professional and engaging and gave us some great tips that were not in the recipe book. It... More

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
