Went in here a couple of times on our stay in Barcelona. Fairly small cocktail bar which takes you back. 2/3 guys produce all the cocktails (one being a good lookalike for Len Goodmen!). There is no menu, but they can make anything which is asked for. For one drink, I had just a Bourbon & coke. This did have... More

Went into this cocktail bar and thought I was in the 1930s. Tried a couple of whiskey-based cocktails and liked them very much. The staff is great: funny, charming and helpful with the cocktails. The only thing is that you must come early, otherwise the place is packed and there is no place to sit.

I stopped by this bar for a drink with my husband and friend. The bar is just off La Rambla so I assumed the bar would not be any good in such a touristy area. The cocktails were so good we stayed for several. We had a pisco sour, dark and stormy, bourbon sidecar, and a couple of Manhattans. The... More

The bar is just on a side street off La Rambla boulevard. The door is a hole in the wall and not very inviting. GO IN you see across the room a bar fronted by two cool dudes who look as though they should be serving drinks in a 1930's speakeasy. Behind them rows of bottles of various hues. I... More

This is your classic style bar, opened in 1933 and the bar tenders wear tuxedos! Art on the wall and Miro drawings gives this place a great atmosphere. No menu (there were 4 types of cocktails listed on a board), but the bartenders know how to mix anything you like and if you don't know what you want, they are... More

This bar is glorious, just off Las Ramblas, it has a great atmosphere. The barstaff are so competent they will make you anything, they are worldclass, and put on quite a show. Well worth the visit.

Back in Barcelona, La Boadas is a must. Almost hidden away on the edge of las Ramblas, this is a traditional cocktail bar of the highest order.

Staying in La Rambla

Neighborhood Profile
La Rambla
Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry riverbed. Now, La Rambla is a 1200-meter boulevard, and a major draw for visitors. During the day, La Rambla fills with pedestrians, some of which stroll past impressive human statues and artists while others take a break to people-watch while enjoying a drink at one of the many terraces. Housed here is the iconic Boqueria Market that offers one of the most varied and appetizing selections of local produce and specialty meats and treats. While it’s important for tourists to keep an eye on their belongings at all times, this area is most safely explored in the daytime and is a must see for everyone who visits.
