Neighborhood: Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

We found this restaurant by chance, and we hit the jackpot! The staff was very friendly and they spoke English, Spanish or Catalán... maybe more. The customers seemed to be locals who knew about it and came back for the quality of the food. The dishes were made from the freshest ingredients and the combination of flavors were creative, unexpected and delicious.
We were there for dinner one night and came back the next to repeat the fig dish and to try something new. It was great!

This was our first visit on our second day into our trip, will certainly will visit again.. but told that they are only going to be opened in the evenings (ONLY for the next two weeks) as on holiday. We were also told this in another cafe this morning so expect some places that may have been opened the rest of the year CLOSED for summer BREAKS during August.

Very vibrant cafe, young friendly, laid back approach, food was excellent - we ordered two main dishes from a tiny menu which is fantastic as it usually means food is fresh and menu thought through.

Will certainly return for tapas one evening soon and also sample their coffee.
