We chanced across this whilst searching for Gaudi sites in Barcelona we'd not been to before. This house is a real gem. Beautiful inside and quiet away from the most popular places. Only renovated and opened to the public in 2017 we loved it. On...More

Multicolored house is just the beginning of Gaudi career. Built for a friend, this house established Gaudi's reputation. However, it's not as sophisticated and elaborate as Battlo's house.More

Dear juliaramm27, We agree Casa Vicens is a couple of steps away from Batlló's flamboyance. However, it is lovely to see how this place is the best way to contemplate the artist's breeding ground. We are glad you shared your impressions, and we hope to...More

Confession: I'm not a giant fan of Gaudi's mature style, but: (1) it's Barcelona, so taking in Guadi is mandatory; and (2) Casa Vicens is his first house, not his mature style. It's like going to a museum filled with a famous artist's early, less...More

Casa Vicens is stunning both outside and in, with obvious oriental and islamic influences on the design. It was the first Gaudi attraction I visited in Barcelona which was probably for the best; it does not yet seem to draw the humongous crowds of other...More

Bought a ticket online and arrived a good hour early -- no problem! The building is basically devoid of furniture but very interesting. Not as crowded as other Gaudi buildings. Very enjoyable, from top -- the roof -- to the basement.

Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to
be an independent town until late into the 19th

the center, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole
different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many
international artists to this area, resulting in a
wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy
