Neighborhood: Gracia
Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to be an independent town until late into the 19th century. Though it’s just a short commute away from the center, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many international artists to this area, resulting in a wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the vibrant Gracia’s plaças, where young and old gather to enjoy a drink outside. Carrer de Verdi, its main street, offers affordable restaurants and a movie theater that screens new as well as classic films in their original language. However Gracia's greatest treasure lies just up the hill at Guell Park, where Antoni Gaudi's vibrant and revolutionary art sculptures stand atop unequaled views of Barcelona.

Fabulous place; would rate it highly; take your time to study the amazing ceilings . Bring your own earphones as easy to use app on your phone which is brilliant with short information on each room. Lovely to sit on terraces. Shame ugly flats are where the garden used to be years ago. Short walk from metro. Spring deal of apple & cinnamon cake from cafe with entry ticket was delicious. Would highly recommend as opposed to more well know & busy Gaudi buildings which can get very crowded. A must see!

Casa Vicens was a breath of fresh air among the crowded Gaudi landmarks. It was definitely the least crowded of the ones I visited (Park Guell, Casa Batllo, La Sagrada), but it was worth a visit to take in the beautiful architecture without a busy atmosphere.
Smile Gaudi: I started off my time at Casa Vicens with the photographer Sarah/Sara. I did two other photography activities/tours in my time in Barcelona, and Sarah was the best as giving great directions and posing advice. She also took beautiful pictures! The pictures were available within 24 hours and were easy to obtain and download. I got tons of complements on the photographs!

This was the first house designed and built by Gaudi after graduating. It was a summer home for the Vicens family and located in Gracia neighborhood. If you are a Gaudi devotee this place is sacred for you and you should come. Admittedly, I am not a Gaudi-geek but nevertheless I found some parts of the house to be quite interesting and it added to my knowledge of the architect. However, personally I do not feel that the admission charge of 20 Euros is justified. Maybe the Gaudi-geeks and fans would disagree.

Casa Vicens is the latest Gaudi house to be opened to the public. And as such has been the undiscovered gem as ticket purchasing on the premises is available avoiding the headaches of online scheduling visits. When we arrived as we only had 2 nights in Barcelona this time, all the other Gaudi sights were unavailable online and in person. It was such a headache too when the website suddenly bounces you around or you get security checks on your credit card (2 factor authentication requiring cell phone access—-becomes tough with WiFi issues or if we put our cell phones only for WiFi use). To our surprise Casa Vicens has lots of availability for touring and we were glad we ventured out to this house. It’s really such an incredible place as Gaudi was trying to evoke elements of the Alhambra. Truly another Gaudi gem not to be missed!

Our visit to Casa Vicens was very enjoyable mainly due to the welcoming and helpful staff and the excellent audio guide which can be downloaded via a QR code to your mobile phone. The guide takes you from room to room explaining features and Gaudi’s inventiveness and ingenuity to work within a budget without compromising the wonderful final result.
The house is a little difficult to find but well worth the effort. It is less crowded than other places in Barcelona.

Love ti his place. Featuring a façade partly enriched by tiles, I enters this place after a delicious dessert in the bar. The staff was kind and attentive, I had to download an audio guide by QR code on my ticket (bring headphones with you) and I started the visit of this less known but unmissable masterpiece by Gaudi. Room by room I was delighted by the details and the bravura of the architect, from the ground floor to the terrace. It takes about an hour for a decent visit, the closest metro station is Fontana. Go there!

The exhibition was structured, very well organized and presented. The audio guide was available in 15 languages, in a very good quality. The staff was very kind and helpful. There was a cafe in which we enjoyed the ice cream break, a great place to take a break and recharge to follow the exhibition. We found out many interesting details not only about Gaudí but also about the history of Barcelona.

I love everything Gaudi has designed. The last time I was in Barcelona this house was not yet open to the public, so I was excited to get to see it this visit. The guided tour was well worth it for the details about the history of the area, the changes in the building over time, the way everything was made. I would probably visit again...

Whimsical architecture from early Gaudi provides a glimpse into the developing master. If you enjoy architecture - you get to see some interesting experiments put to work here. Excellent interactive museum. History and flawless restoration make this a great stop on your Gaudi adventure.

This house is one of Gaudi's earliest projects and it is stunning, even if it is not in it's original state. The area around is OK but certainly not in keeping with this amazing modernista structure. The artwork is spectacular in every room and I particularly liked the staircase, simple at it is. As with much of Gaudi's work, there is a mixture of colours and styles but they are blended so well together. The audio guide is a must. It is a just a short metro ride north of the city centre and well worth a visit, as Gracia is a pretty area.
