We discovered Marta's paella class through a friend of ours, and spending an afternoon with great food, wine and conversation is a great way to enjoy Barcelona! Learning how to cook paella was a lot of fun and we brushed up on our cooking skills by chopping, slicing and dicing all the vegetables, meat and seafood. It was easy to follow the printed recipe and you only have to participate cooking to your comfort level. Marta is always encouraging and helping you along the way, never in a rush. The ingredients we used were super fresh and full of flavor which made for a delicious paella when it was done. Marta is very friendly and engaging - we exchanged a lot of fun stories about traveling and enjoying experiences when visiting new places. We highly recommend Marta's class. You will be glad you learned about paella and you'll enjoy a truly delicious meal!

Marta's experience is wonderful. I've participated multiple times over the years in her Paella class, bringing university students in my study abroad course. It's certainly less of a generic tourist experience and more like you have a friend in Barcelona who you are visiting (and learning at lot at the same time!). It's one of the best cooking experiences I've had while traveling (and I've done gastronomic tours, tastings, and classes in 50 different countries). People like Marta who host these kinds of local experiences are what makes traveling meaningful. I would not hesitate to book a class with Marta if you are in Barcelona. It will be the highlight of your time in the city.

Marta is such a sweet and classy instructor. I came as a guest with someone else and just had to create a TripAdvisor account to review this business. Marta’s experience was once in a lifetime experience for me and my friends.
We created excellent memories , had great photographs taken, and learned a new life skill to cook our own delicious Paella. I cannot wait to try cooking this dish on my own when I get home!
The cozy apartment environment felt like I was cooking at a friends home , BYOB. Amazing experience. I would absolutely do this again.

Marta was an amazing cooking teacher and the venue was excellent to learn, cook, and enjoy. From the beginning where she taught a us about the paella must-haves to the end where tasted the fruits of our efforts, Marta was an impeccable host with a wonderful personality that exuded an immense pride in being able to share the process of cooking Spain’s most famous meal.

This was a fantastic class. The paella was absolutely amazing, and Marta is a fantastic teacher. Would recommend 1000% for anyone looking to learn, eat fantastic food and just have a wonderful experience.

This was such a great class. Marta does a great job at explaining everything she does in detail and teaches how to make paella in an interactive manner. She gives you a recipe to follow while cooking and lets you take it home. So you can give it a try as well. The paella turned out so delicious! The best paella I’ve had.

Marta was very very nice and the class was enjoyable. We went in a group of 6 and all of us had a part in making the paella. It was very low key and fun. Possibly the best paella you could have!

Absolutely love the cooking class. Marta is very sweet and walks you through all of the steps on how to make a Paella from the ingredients to the equipment. An absolute must if you just like good food or want to lean how to cook.

Hi Marta, my son and I attended your paella class in the summer of 2018 and we both had a great time and enjoyed the paella. Bryce and I have talked about recreating your recipe many times but just haven’t gotten around to it. He is finishing graduate school in July of 2021 and we are planning a huge party to celebrate. We want to make your paella the centerpiece of the party, but I have lost the recipe instructions that you gave us. Is it possible to get those instructions again?

I'm not sure what times the classes are but we are looking for a night time class on either Sunday, February 23rd or Wednesday, February 26th. We have 3 or 4 people interested but could do a minimum of 2 people if that's all that you have open. We look forward to hearing from you!

The whole activity takes about 3 hours.
Classes take place in a very central part of the city, and are always in English.
