The area
Address
Neighborhood: Gracia
Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to be an independent town until late into the 19th century. Though it’s just a short commute away from the center, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many international artists to this area, resulting in a wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the vibrant Gracia’s plaças, where young and old gather to enjoy a drink outside. Carrer de Verdi, its main street, offers affordable restaurants and a movie theater that screens new as well as classic films in their original language. However Gracia's greatest treasure lies just up the hill at Guell Park, where Antoni Gaudi's vibrant and revolutionary art sculptures stand atop unequaled views of Barcelona.

Disappointing
Jul 2019 • Friends
The 737 simulator (the computer) in itself is good in general. But the instructor did not speak English and the worst: he did not explain anything and was doing 99% of the job himself! So, it was definitely not a good experience, especially when you see the price. It was very disappointing. The minimum is to explain why we need to activate this and that, and let the customer do it! It was a waste of time and money.

Aviationist heaven
Dec 2018 • Family
For anyone with an interest in aviation this place simply has it all: a well-stocked bookstore about civil and military aviation, aircraft scale models, other accessories etc. - and flight simulators. The simulators are professional quality and very realistic: my son got two hrs in the 737 as a christmas present and found the experience absolutely awesome (and the instructor was great). Definitely a place that I will return to.

Simuteca and the aeronautical store were excellent! The staff was friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. They trained me on some of the cockpit tools of the flight simulator, and then I was off to fly around Saint Martin! They didn't even get upset when I crashed (twice)! It was a great experience!
This is a great opportunity for beginners or more experienced/amateur pilots.

Aviation Geeks Forever!
Dec 2015
If you're into aviation this place is nirvana. A mom and pop shop carries an enormous selection of professional and non professional literature on every topic of aviation. Airport design? Check. Israeli illlustrations of the air force? Check. It's a terrific place to visit if you're an aviophile and something I've never ever seen in any city I've visited.

Expensive, but worth the splash
Dec 2015
At the age of 70, I guess that I have left it too late to become a pilot. So did the next best thing, and booked one hour on the flight simulator at Aeroteca. I chose to fly the 737 simulator, to get a feel for what commercial airline pilots do. I really enjoyed enjoyed the whole experience, even if I completely messed up the landing at Palma de Mallorca. Fortunately there were no serious casualties to the passengers or the simulator. Thanks, Jordi, for your patience!

Unforgettable super-realistic experience!
Aug 2015 • Friends
I did 2 hours Boeing 737 simulation together with my friend, and I can assure you that it is a very realistic experience. It's a very informative training with a professional trainer which takes you through all the steps of navigating a commercial plane. I did the whole procedure from checking the real-time forecasts and route, to taking the plane from terminal to runway (really surprising how it gets navigated on the ground), to take off and piloting the plane after the take off, communication with the towers, adjusting speed and the landing. It was so real that most of my friends tought I was piloting a real 737 while seeing the pictures or video. One of the strongest points of this experience is also the trainer - Jordi. He was really informative and funny and thanks to him the whole session was a lot more enjoyable.
If you travel a lot by plane, or are aviation fan or simply just curious how it is to pilot a huge commercial aircraft - you should give it a try. You will be amazed with the whole training, as well as all the sounds and motion the simulator produces. You can take pictures and video during whole session.
The simulation takes place in a big store for aviation enthusiasts, where you can find many interesting books, items and a small aeroplane full motion simulator. It is well worth a visit. Everybody was very kind and helpful and they managed to book us for the same day we did an enquiry.
I can fully recommend the Boeing 737 simulation in Simuteca. It will provide you many thrills, knowledge, incredibly realistic experience and nice memories.

Meant for training not kids
Jun 2015 • Family
We did a one hour simulation with our son who had his brith day on that day. It is a perfect simulation of an aircraft together with its detailed pilot cockpit having each control system and gadgets replicated. This is in the front of a screen that gives you a detailed feel of driving the aircraft with changes based on your driving. However this means you take about 20-25 minutes just to take the aircraft out on the runway before you are airborne and spend some time before landing. In that sense it is primarily meant for training simulation for pilots. kids can't really fly on their own and have to depend on the instructor to tell them what buttons to press next but can get a feel of what it is to be a pilot in today's aircrafts. It is admirable recreation but also a huge cost - 130 euros for the first hour and to that extent not actually worth it if it is just the kids.

We appreciate your review since our answer will make clear to other visitors what are these simulator sessions really for. Yes, the Boeing 737-NGV flight simulator is not intended for kids, since as a simulator every "pilot" have to follow procedures as if it was a real pilot. Our instructor helps you at any moment indicating which actions you have to do in order to fly as real as it gets. Curious people, simulator fans and also professionals are the main groups of users for this Boeing 737 simulator. We have another flight simulator more indicated for kids (always +10), it is the OVO-04 full motion simulator.

La Simuteca it's a shop, big one, Full of books, super specific ones ! Tha staff is mainly friendy, but also very familiar and expert with all related to planes, the art of flying and modeling.
Take some time at the shop and have a look. because if you get to see any of the simulators you'll be amazed. And perhaps you decide to take a flight, and then you are going to have so much fun.
Inside the OVO Simulator. you are flying.(Over wherever you choose :) Before that, someone from the shop will perfectly explain all the buttons and steps you need to do/press to have a good flight.
One really gets in it's super realistic.

Every visit can be an experience, so, check it out

RE: it was okay
Oct 2014 • Couples
it was supposed to be a birthday gift for my husband and I booked for the flight 737 simulator for 1 hour. but when we got there, there was a problem and waited for more than an hour before it got fixed. My husband did enjoy it and would have wanted more reign on the wheel. he had a hard time understanding instructions - not sure because english is not first language of instructor. He said he would have enjoyed it more with the simulator inside the store. Just for the sake of experience, you should try it if you are in Barcelona.
