The area
Neighborhood: Gracia
Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to be an independent town until late into the 19th century. Though it’s just a short commute away from the center, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many international artists to this area, resulting in a wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the vibrant Gracia’s plaças, where young and old gather to enjoy a drink outside. Carrer de Verdi, its main street, offers affordable restaurants and a movie theater that screens new as well as classic films in their original language. However Gracia's greatest treasure lies just up the hill at Guell Park, where Antoni Gaudi's vibrant and revolutionary art sculptures stand atop unequaled views of Barcelona.

Casa Rocamora is a mansion block designed by the brothers Joaquín and Bonaventura Bassegoda i Amigó for the Spanish painter, writer and collector of art, Manuel Rocamora i Vidal.
The building is designed principally in Neo-Gothic with hints of Neo-Mudejar and Catalan Modernism. The facade of the building is clearly Gothic with it’s long straight lines that soar to the skies. The façade is topped by pinnacles with the corners formed by a semicircular towers covered in orange ceramic scales that hint at Modernisme. Interestingly, the orange contrasts beautifully with the otherwise plain white façade of the rest of the building
The building is not quite as striking as the many fine and monumental examples of Modernism on Passieg de Gracia, but if you’re in the area, it’s definitely work a look.

Everything is wrong : the address ( paseo de Gracia) , the localisation on the map, the pictures ( some are from the Casa de les Punxes and the others from a building at the corner of the plaza de Cataluña and paseo de Gracia) how could it be ???
The address is in fact calle Ballester, 12 near General Mitre and plaza Lesseps and it was the house of a collector that exhibits the dresses his mother wore, some paintings, nice furniture and china....

Casa Rocamora is in a great area where residents are quite well off. So prices would be very high if you wished to stay in this district or this building! However the architecture of Casa Rocamora is fantastic and is consistent with what we have seen around Barcelona, which is absolutely beautiful. It is worth visiting this part of Barcelona just to have a look and admire the beauty of buildings like this one.

Built between 1914 and 1917 and designed by architects Joaquin and Bonaventura Bassegoda this stunning looking building along Passeig De Gracia is a great example of mock Neo Gothic style architecture, the spire looks very evocative especially at night which is when we passed this amazing looking building.
I was amazed at the stunning architecture we saw in this vibrant city and Casa Rocamora ( House Of Rocamora ) was one if the most interesting.
Casa Rocamora is easy to locate on Passeig De Gracia, it's only a stone's throw from Plaça De Catalunya and is most definitely well worth checking out.
