Walking history tour Jewish quarter & Old town

Located in the Gothic District of Barcelona, this tour is based around the mysterious and historical Jewish quarter. It's an easy walking tour, that will enchant both the young and old alike as there's lots to learn and enjoy! Starting at 10 am at Pl. Sant Jaume, right next to Barcelona's city hall, we'll devote four hours: -Visiting Spain's oldest Synagogue (Sinagoga Mayor Barcelona), -Discovering the Jewish Quarter's unique Mikve while we stroll our way through the narrow alleys that date back to the Middle Age, -Exploring the rich art and architecture around the ruins of the famous Jewish Alchemisthouse, (Centro Interpretation Del Call), and-Capturing the historical memories of Roman Wall, Barcelona's Cathedral. And that's not it! We've got more! We will have some fun spending joyous moments around the colorful Food Market and explore the liveliness at the main boulevard: La Rambla before making our way back to the starting point.

Despite the cold and windy weather, we thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Jewish quarter with Dina. She was friendly, informative, knowledgeable and very interesting. Thank you Dina!

We went on three tours in Barcelona. The other two were fabulous! This one was extremely boring. Our tour guide kept showing us pictures and talking for 30 minutes at a time. I told her we would like to see more and have less talking but she didn’t seem to care what we wanted. It was a waste of time and money.

I am so sorry to hear about your negative experience - especially when the other two were such great tour experiences. We will definitely speak to the guide and try to understand what happened and perhaps she misunderstood the situation. In any case, we will do what we can to prevent this from happening again. It is our goal to ensure our tours are interesting, enlightening, and fun. Thank you for your feedback to help us improve our services.

My wife and I, Plung with out three children ranging from 20-27 years old took the Jewish Tour with Theresa. We had a wonderful time. Theresa was very informative, articulate and fun to be with. If your language is English, she spoke it like a native. Not only was the tour excellent but she also was able to answer all the questions we had. She also points out when the things she told us were definite vs when most people think something but it’s not 100% verified. If you have an interest in the history of the Jewish people in Spain then this tour is definitely for you. I highly recommend it as all in my family enjoyed both the tour and Theresa. Highly recommended!

I think it's important to request someone who lives locally in Barcelona and understands the culture and history from experience. Our tour guide was a nice person but we felt a lacking in his ability to communicate information and sad that he was not local. We also were freezing cold and felt that we could have stopped and talked in different places than in the cold stone shade.
