This week I did the free tour of Barcelona with Cristian and the free tour of Gaudí and modernism with Agustina. Regarding the first of these, I found it very interesting as Cristian gave a lot of historical information that allowed me to know many aspects of the city that I did not know, despite having visited it before. All I felt was that the places to visit were very few, as the information given in each one was quite extensive. I almost always pick Sandeman free walking tours wherever I go and did so at Barcelona too. It gave us a quick glimpse into the history of the city. Our guide Paula gave us several interesting titbits about the city and its culture although at times her accent was difficult to grasp. For the first time on a Sandeman tour, we were told of minimum expectations on what to offer as a fee (voluntarily of course) after the tour. Sandeman walking tours never disappoints and this one didn't, either. Cheers,

Augustina was amazing and it is noted that she loves what she does and her passion for Catalan modernism.
I didn't expect to like it and be as interesting as it was!

When you go on a tour and hear that the tour guide is originally from your home town in England, you then you find out he went to the same school as you and was a year below you and you were in the same class as his brother you begin to question are we living in the Matrix.
That's a slight aside the tour was excellent, taking in the big attractions but also some smaller sites and some stories involving the history of the city both serious and farcical.
A great way to see the city in around two hours if you are here for just a couple of days.

We always do a local walking tour in every city we visit as a family. We find that these are the best ways to get an introduction to the city and to get an idea of what to explore. We learned quite a bit about the history of Barcelona from Agustina, and we walked away with plenty of information to further visit the city. When we were leaving, she also gave us a list of her personal recommendations for restaurants, sites, places to see, etc. She was so kind and happy to answer all our group's questions. We were all very glad that we got her as our tour guide!

Andy was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable, great depth of knowledge without being too overwhelming. He gave fantastic art history and made our family feel relaxed and comfortable. We all loved the dark history too. I enjoyed the side stops for a beer and into a gallery with amazing modern art.

My friend and I were part of the Gothic walking tour with Lena who was a delight! Full of energy throughout the tour, knowledgeable, fun, expressive and considerate of group members. She certainly made the trip very enjoyable with her infectious enthusiasm for Barcelona. You won’t be disappointed if Lena is your guide.

Andy was a wonderful tour guide, sharing history and comedy through the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. I have booked Sandeman's walking tours across Europe, and Andy definitely didn't disappoint! We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and learned a lot of about the history of this beautiful city. 100% recommend touring with him!

We had a wonderful walking tour with Angelina in the Barri Gothic. She was extremely knowledgeable and provided an engaging and interesting discussion during our two hour tour. It was the perfect start to our three day visit to Barcelona! Highly recommend it!!

When are the tours offered and what do they include? Also would Sunday be a poor time to have a tour? Are buildings, etc. closed on Sundays?

Hola, el tour recorre el baririo Gótico, distintas iglesias como la de Santa María del Mar, plaza de Saint Jaume.
Sinceramente es muy bueno el tour, ya que muestra una parte distinta y muy pintoresca de Barcelona.
Estos free tours son muy interesantes y el tiempo se pasa volando, Barcelona tiene mil matices diferentes, vale la pena un recorrido por este espacio.

many of the places to visit have their own guided tours or audio guides so you would not need an extra guide in them. Transport in the city is easy especially if your hotel is central. Do go on line and book timed tickets in advance epecially for Sagrada Familia. that way you can be sure of getting into the places you want to see as 2 days does not give you much time to spare

Hello. My friend and I took the Gaudi tour with Mick. He was absolutely awesome. Very informative, and was very tentative of everyone in the group. I would definitely bring friends to one of his tours again. BUT. Since I already left a review for Yiannis, it won’t allow me to post another review.
