I was heading to see the Sagrada Familia for the first time and I had heard it was a better experience with some background information so I did some digging online and came across Robb. He was very responsive over email and we picked a date and time to meet. He was already there when we arrived at the agreed upon time and was super friendly right away. He then spent the next 75 minutes or going through each part of the cathedral - inside and out - giving us great information that was never boring or too much. He told us he usually gives tours in Dutch, but his English was perfect. I highly recommend Robb for his tour. In fact, I've already given his name to two friends are both visiting Barcelona within the next month.

We took part in Robb's online tour of the Sagrada Familia. I climbed the towers of this basilica back in the mid 70s and there wasn't much of an interior yet to speak of. But now there is and we were very curious. Because of the Corona pandemic, it would have been more difficult to visit in person, so doing it online was the next best thing!

Robb gave a very balanced presentation with sufficient history to help understand who the main players were, when did this take place and so on. He also briefly explained the principles behind the building's arches and that it was Gaudi's genius to apply them in a novel way. This together with the stunning views of the interior and additional explanations of various architectural features made it a highly informative and enjoyable tour.

Robb knows his stuff and gives an enthusiastic presentation. The price is absolutely right and I highly recommend it.

Our family had an amazing experience on the tour with Rob. He is extremely knowledgeable and also kept both our 9 year old and 13 year old engaged and entertained. It was definitely one of the highlights of our visit to Barcelona

We hired Robb for 8 hours on June 3rd and 5 hours on June 4. His fees were about half of what some other Barcelona private tour web sites were asking and his time with us was great !

We arranged to meet at our hotel at 10:30 a.m. and he arrived at least 10 minutes early. He had maps for us and we sat a few minutes discussing our plans. My wife and I had taken a walk for an hour so right then we modified our plans so as not to cover exactly the same route.

First we went to the Metro and he helped us buy a 10-ticket pass. In less than 5 minutes, I estimated he just saved us at least 20-30 minutes of hassle had we tried to do all of this on our own with just this brief portion of our tour. We ended up in 2 days using all 10 of the trips ( my wife and I shared one card).

And we walked, and he talked and he was friendly, kind, polite, knowledgeable and very patient with us tired tourists! He took us to famous places, like the churros and chocolate place called Viader Chocolate where we had the "original" Cacaolat, a very famous drink in Barcelona I had never heard of! And the touron store where we bought this delicious dessert that locals love.

He pointed out the special metal plaques in front of various establishments, earned for being in the same place at least 50 years, and we saw a lot of those.

We saw the old Hospital where Gaudi died and he told us the story. We saw an amazing room where they used to conduct surgery in the open air with a balcony for students, called the operating "theatre". We went to the Barri Gothic area, La Rambla, La Boqueria, saw and drank from the famous fountain, saw the Mireau mosaic, the cathedral, and Park Citadel and skipped to the front of the line at the Picasso museum where he toured us through personally.

Lunch was this awesome Basque tapas bar I never heard of, and we also went to the Four Cats for espresso. We were supposed to go to the Chocolate museum and he was up for it but we were exhausted. This ended day one!

The next day we took a taxi to Sagrada Familia and spent a lot of time there, then went to Park Guell ( along visit, so much to see), and the Casa Mila. This ended day two but later we went to another tapa place he advised that was amazing, called El Nacional. And later we went on our own to Mount Juic (spelling?).

If you go with any other tour company than Robb you might see the same stuff but you will pay way more. We have used private guides in Prague, Budapest and now Barcelona, and this was the best experience we have ever had with one.

Thanks Robb!

My family of 4 (children aged 12 and 15) toured 2 days with Robb. Our first day together was a Picasso Walking tour and finished in the Picasso museum. Robb did a wonderful job keeping my children engaged as we strolled through the Bari Gotic and pointed out interesting sites and gave us some context for Picasso's time in Barcelona. He arranged entrance into the museum and walked us through the exhibit and provided some interesting details to several artworks. He said his goodbye's allowing us to stay in the museum and get second looks at any pieces we found interesting. Also, he was able to provide some great recommendations for our time in Barcelona for the evening.
The next day, we met Robb for Parc Guell and Sagrada Familia on electric bikes. We were there on Easter weekend, so it was both crowded and many of the shops had limited staffing. While on the tour, one of the bikes was not functioning properly. Robb has a very calming personality, although I imagine he was very frustrated, he quickly took initiative and traded bikes with my daughter so that he was the one pedaling up to Parc Guell -- you will understand the challenge if you go from in town to Parc Guell. However, as a result of the delay, we missed our timed entrance to the monument tour. Although we were a bit disappointed, it was out of his control and he took responsibility and made arrangements to refund us the admission. Due to the crowds, in spite of his efforts with other guides, he was not able to secure entrance for us. We still were able to walk around the public portion of the park and get a sense of the project and what it is today. I still felt like he managed the situation very well. We moved on to Sagrada Familia which was the highlight. Similarly, he kept all of us intersted and gave us historical context and explanations of the architecture and pointed out some very interesting easily missed aspects of the architecture and facades. To end our time together, he made wonderful recommendations for our final night in Barcelona and facilitated making reservations at a wonderful restaurant. Robb is very knowledgeable, approachable and what impressed me was how he managed a situation that could have been a significant disappointment. Even though we are on vacation, it does not mean that unforseend and unfortunate circumstances happen, but how these situations are managed is what is most important. Robb did a great job maintaining our confidence and enjoyment during our remaining time with him. Fond memories most certainly!

We did this tour with Rob on our final day in Barcelona. He helped us see neighborhoods we would have otherwise missed and he had some great commentary on the history of the city. We learned a good bit about the political history as well and we appreciated hearing his perspective.

Rob had been recommended to us by two sets of family members that did his tour previously and now we know why!

On our first visit to Barcelona we had booked a couple tours with Rob and feel there was no better introduction to this beautiful city! When we knew we were returning to Barcelona, it was easy to book another tour with our friend Rob. We took the ebike tour up to the Olympic village on the southern hill overlooking Barcelona. The views and the gardens were amazing! Rob is the perfect host to this beautiful city. We are so glad we got to see him again. Thank you, Rob!
