We walked the length of this street and it is not very exciting. There are shops, as well as other establishments along the road, but it is a very busy road, with lots of traffic. Apparently it has received its name because it is parallel to the Equator. We loved a couple of areas of this road. One was the part that is closest to Plaça d'Espanya with its beautiful fountain. The other is the part closest to the other end, closest to the seafront, which is also beautiful.

A very long Avenue but has some very good restaurants along the way. Our Hotel was on the Avenue and plenty of metro stops along the route.

It was great walking through this avenue but I don't think it is something special that you must see...

Its hard to call this an attraction, but it is a major road worth knowing about. It is a busy city street extending from Plaça de Drassanes near the Port to Plaça de Espanya. The full length can be briskly walked in half an hour. There are sidewalk cafes and bars in spots along the way, along with shops, gas/petrol stations, and the like.

A Metropolitan must have big boulevards, and Barcelona have many.
Avenue del Parallel is one of them.
It is a big boulevard, which connect Plaza de Espana and Placa de les Drassanes (at the harbour, close to the Rambla).
It is a green boulevard, and there are some art, shops and restaurants.
But it is difficult to call it a big attraction, compared with all the attractions in Barcelona.

Running from Placa d'Espanya, to the harbour, this is a lovely walk, plenty to see (an eclectic neighbourhood) on the way, what we especially like is the allocated bikeway in the centre of the roadway well away from pedestrians.

In case you get bored of Las Ramblas, but still want to walk along a big, easy road, then this is for you. It's a bit more rugged, but also more local as Las Ramblas. And that's a good thing. Lots of small, independent shops and even more lunch and dining options. From the dirt cheap (think Kebab shops and Pizza) to the luxurious (Tickets). Some grocery stores as well.

It's a main road with lots of traffic, but still we enjoyed strolling along this road every day we've been here. Walking down on one side, walk back up on the other. Goes for miles. Been here until around 11.30pm, never felt unsafe, it's a busy street, always people around.

It's a great walk. Start from the Plaza d'Espanya and follow it until you reach the harbour. You will also pass the famous (for good reason) Quimet & Quimet.....not right at this street though. Close to the east end you are also only one side street away from "Elche", where you can get fantastic Paella (not the touristy kind).

Loved walking here with our Bulldog. Sidewalks are very wide, so even with lots of human traffic, it never feels crowded.

I have been staying just off this long avenue for over twenty years and continue to come back with the main attraction the many excellent tapas bars and restaurants both on and down the side streets. There are many locals living in the area so not as touristy as some parts (if that's possible) but the restaurants seem to be frequented by local regulars especially the Poble Sec area. Lots of poverty on the streets but that unfortunately is part of life in this city.

This street roughly extends from Port Vell district of Barcelona down to the magnificent Plaça De Espanya ,it encompasses many great landmark sites to be found in this city, the architecture along the street is a mix of architectural styles and all along the street there are innumerable pubs, bars and restaurants both local and ones aimed at the tourist market.
A great street,well worth walking down .
